neveragain34 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 So in the past, I've had a pattern of rushing into things and/or falling for bad boys, players, a**holes, etc. I am finally at a point in my life where confidence is up and I've learned from my past, which has in turn led to better relationship choices. I'm dating someone now who seems like a truly nice, genuine guy but just wanted to see what you guys thought before I let my guard down. Here's the background on him; we will call him "Steve": -Met Steve last summer through an OLD site...we chatted a few times, but never met in person. (I got serious with someone else before we had the chance to meet.) -In January (5 months later) he texts me out of the blue to say hi because something reminded him of me. We make small talk and he tells me he really thinks we should meet and that based on my profile and our past communication, he thinks we'd really hit it off. I agree and we begin dating a couple of days later. -It's been 5 weeks since our first date, 11 dates total and another one coming up next week. The five weeks have gone as follows (can you tell I'm a type A ? Lol): 1. He always asks me out ahead of time (3-5 days before). 2. Average of 2 dates a week, either a weeknight plus Friday or Saturday night, sometimes both Friday and Saturday night. He is always on time when he picks me up or we agree to meet somewhere. 3. He always pays, even when I try. (I managed to slip the waiter my card on two occasion when he was in the bathroom.) 4. We have kissed and undergone some heavy makeout sessions, but have not had sex, nor does he pressure me to. 5. He texts about once during the day to say hi and once again in the evening. 6. I noticed he removed or made his OLD profile invisible since we met (so have I) 7. I met one of his best friends last week and tagged along with them a couple of days after that. All great signs, right? He also has a great job, he's educated, and very good looking. However, these are the things on my mind: 1. He lives an hour away; could he still be dating other women in his town? 2. Why doesn't he want to have sex with me? We both agreed on date 9 that we wanted to wait until we are in a committed relationship, but it already feels like we are exclusive (which takes me back to #1). He's not gay. (I can definitely tell from our makeout sessions. Lol) He did mention being religious, but not in the sense that he's waiting for marriage. 3. He has been divorced twice, but this didn't even come up until like date 9 and I had to ask him about it. All conversations have been pretty light and fun up until then and since then. Through writing this, I think I've come to realize things are good and I should just continue to go with the flow. Lol. But your thoughts are still welcome!
