Casablanca Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Grr...these last two weeks have been really long...I had been seeing this woman for a little over 2 weeks, we had had about 6 dates, all ended well..nothing other than kissing and cuddling. Last week she was sick, strep among other things all week, we texted back and forth some each day, nothing major...this week is her springbreak, so she headed home, and wont be back either saturday or sunday. So basically its going to have been over 2 weeks between dates, it has driven me nuts. Not really looking for advice, just feel like venting a little bit as we're in that gray area, we both seem to be interested and like each other, but havent had that much time together and things are still developing....so i just play the waiting game...anyone else ever came across anything like this in the beginning of dating?
ja123 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 anyone else ever came across anything like this in the beginning of dating? Yeah, I have and the feelings were strong enough to bridge the gap. Pick it up again when she gets back! Good Luck! 1
Author Casablanca Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 Yeah, I have and the feelings were strong enough to bridge the gap. Pick it up again when she gets back! Good Luck! That is the plan, going to try and iron out some plans...just odd playing the waiting game like this for so long
iKING Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 That is the plan, going to try and iron out some plans...just odd playing the waiting game like this for so long Two weeks really isn't that bad, it'll be by before you know it. The initial dating phase of a relationship can be interesting, you're just getting to know someone's personality, their lifestyle, etc. There's really no telling what you might encounter. Pick it up where you left off and see where it goes. 6 dates in 2 weeks shows quite a bit of interest, so I don't see it diminishing just because you're taking a 2 week break.
Divasu Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 ...anyone else ever came across anything like this in the beginning of dating? Yes, it didn't work out. 1
iKING Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Yes, it didn't work out. Pessimism incoming.. Too late..
Cutiepie1976 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Wow! Six dates before she got sick. Clearly you are both very interested. It will pick right back up when she returns. Have you made plans for your next date yet? Maybe focus on that since you have some down time while she is away.

iKING Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 But it didn't! Just happened to me... Careful OP.. I didn't know this was such a common occurrence.
Cutiepie1976 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Ignore the rampant negativity on LS. You'll most likely be fine.
Divasu Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 What the heck. All I said was it didn't work out. 1
iKING Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 What the heck. All I said was it didn't work out. It's okay Divasu, let the man dream..
Cutiepie1976 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 ...at least don't kick him when he's down and missing his new interest.
Djz05 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 You all Just had to burn him.... Then again 2weeks apart during the initial phase? Thats rough
Divasu Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Haha you guys crack me up. Sorry OP for my belligerent negativity. I'll retract and re-post in response to your original question: anyone else ever came across anything like this in the beginning of dating? Yes.

We were able to pick up right where we left off, even stronger, actually - or so I thought. Turns out he lost that lovin' feelin' for me while he was gone.
