Beachbabe9109 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 My bf and I have been dating 9 months. A few weeks ago, he gave me some "love coupons" he made. One is for a Surprise & it says to give him 24 hours notice prior to when I want to use it. Well, last night I told him I want to use it on Thursday. He said ok. He told me to not make any plans for Thursday, because it was going to require preparation from the both of us. Then he kissed me and whispered "but you have to promise me you won't say no" Then he asked if I had any days off this week, and I said I had Thursday off, and he said perfect. I kinda teared up a bit (because of issues I'm having with a college class, I won't be returning to it and I was tearing up because that is why I've got all the days off) and he was like, "Are you crying already?" Which made me feel like whatever the surprise is, he thinks it'll make me cry. I mean...it's obvious what it sounds like it is, but I don't know. I wanted opinions lol. The only thing that makes me wonder is that we had a bit of a rough patch (see previous threads..) a few weeks ago, but everything is perfect and great now. We worked through it. And also that he said he's thinking about moving in with his best friend soon.
outsidethebox Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 is that a mistake? you say "all the days off" but only mentioned Thursday off.
Author Beachbabe9109 Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 is that a mistake? you say "all the days off" but only mentioned Thursday off. Well, I don't have that class anymore, so I've got loads of days off. I just mentioned Thursday because that is when the surprise is and that is the day I needed off.
spice4life Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Hey, just enjoy it and go with the flow. Don't burden the surprise with anyting negative and you should be fine. Over analyzing can drive you crazy and it takes the positive out of the situation.
outsidethebox Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I don't know what kind of surprise has both preparing for hours ahead of time. The only 24 hour notice I know of is a Peking Duck order. 6

And curious as to whether or not it sounds a certain way to anyone else or not.
outsidethebox Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 don't know what certain way that is, and I've read my share of kinky scenarios. have no idea what both preparing for hours could be for.
Bengal Tiger Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 What does he have you doing to prepare? Is this purchasing supplies or more of like mentally/physically preparing for something? on the nonsexual side, he could be planning a romantic date somewhere that needs reservations or tickets or something like that.
Minneloa Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 OP, are you thinking it's a marriage proposal? Or am I WAY off?
outsidethebox Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) a marriage proposal when she randomly picks a SURPRISE love coupon? That takes hours of preparation for both beforehand? What kind of preparation can you do that doesn't take the surprise out of the surprise? Ok, re-read and it requires preparation from the both of them and he said it's good that she has the day off, but doesn't indicate how long the preparation will take. I read it as during the day off, otherwise not sure why it's good that she has the day off. Edited March 10, 2013 by outsidethebox
Casablanca Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 a marriage proposal when she randomly picks a SURPRISE love coupon? That takes hours of preparation for both beforehand? I read it as during the day off, otherwise not sure why it's good that she has the day off. He could be doing it somewhere public, taking her out to eat and arranging with the staff to hide the ring in something, or something like that... No telling, to me it sounds kind of sexual with the whole "don't say no"
Casablanca Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 He wants to try anal. Actually that kind of crossed my mind, but in no way does it sound like it would be a nice surprise for her; I wonder if he is arranging a three way...maybe that is why he needed an extra day...no telling
iKING Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Actually that kind of crossed my mind, but in no way does it sound like it would be a nice surprise for her; I wonder if he is arranging a three way...maybe that is why he needed an extra day...no telling I'd laugh if he showed up and said "Surprise! It's my shlong in a box!" My first impression was either proposal, something kinky, or something really fun. Or perhaps all three.. 3
Author Beachbabe9109 Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 OP, are you thinking it's a marriage proposal? Or am I WAY off? I mean, that is what it sounds like with the whole "promise me you wont' say no." But I don't know. And he gave me hint, so I'll tell you the hints. And it's not sexual or anything. -it's something he is excited for too -it's something I'm going to want to post on Facebook -it's something we have to go somewhere for

I'll keep my eyes open concerning this.
Minneloa Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 OP, have you two talked about marriage previously?
Author Beachbabe9109 Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 OP, have you two talked about marriage previously? Not really.. We've talked about the future. Living together, kids, jobs, etc. One time I said something about one of my friends that got engaged, and he asked if I was hinting at something. And I said no but asked what would happen if I had been hinting..and he said that we'd have that talk later.
Minneloa Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Are you inclined to say yes? Are you ready to commit?
Author Beachbabe9109 Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 Are you inclined to say yes? Are you ready to commit? I would say yes, yes. And the other day, he asked if I ever talked about him with my parents. After I answered (yes) I asked him back and he said yes also. But I'm not sure if that's what it is. That's what it sounds like but I don't know. Do you think that could be it even though we've not really talked about it?
MidwestUSA Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I don't know what kind of surprise has both preparing for hours ahead of time. The only 24 hour notice I know of is a Peking Duck order. I think I'm in love!

Yes, it *could* be, so I'd be prepared for that possibility. Keep us posted.
miss_jaclynrae Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Do you guys live together already. Sounds like he is getting you a puppy. I would never assume a proposal, mostly because you two haven't in depth talked about marriage. 2

I would never assume a proposal, mostly because you two haven't in depth talked about marriage. We don't live together. He is staying with me for a week because of something with his job though. And it's not a puppy. I actually specifically asked him if that was it, yesterday..because I really want a puppy and he knows that. lol.
veggirl Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 He wants to try anal. My first thought as well, hah OP maybe it's a road trip for the day or something, or sky diving or something like that. Hot air balloon ride. I don't know. Tell us what it is afterwards.
