I made an increasingly rare appearance on the bar scene Friday for happy hour. I met up with some coworkers for some drinks just to socialize and be friendly. We were there for about 20 minutes and I started picking up some vibe from this one girl that kept hanging around the end of the bar where we were. We exchanged a look and a smile. Normally I would strike up a conversation in that situation but I was trying to stick to my group and socialize with them and they know I have a gf so I didn't want to look like some kind of @sshole. So for these reasons I ignored her at first.

About a half hour later after some more people cleared out we got a table in the bar area. We were sitting there for about 15 minutes and the girl came up and introduced herself. At this point it was just me and two guys and one lady left out of our original group. I introduced everyone at the table and one guy at the table started trying with her. He is a few years older than me, bald, and scraggly looking. He's also married with kids but a total horndog. The girl was friendly and spoke to everyone but was up in my grill like crazy. She said her friend was getting married and she was trying to lose weight blah blah blah (she had a tidy little body on her). Before she left she invited me to go as her date to the wedding. What tha... She gave me her number and I pretended to put it in my phone. LOL. 5 years ago I would've took her number.

Anyway, after she left the lady at our table started flirting with me. I was thinking What in tha... I honestly kind of thought that lady was a dyke and I was surprised at the way she was acting. I played it off and chalked it up to the alcohol. I left about 30 minutes later.

The moral of the story is for you desperate guys on here. Get your @sses out there and start mingling. Spring time is in the air, wedding season is cranking up and the females are getting horny and desperate.

Why didn't you take her number and go with her?

I have a gf, I only date one at a time.

Then why didn't you just tell this girl that from the beginning instead of pretending you were interested and pretending to take her number? You effectively wasted her time when she is actively looking. And guys wonder why we single ladies are always complaining about the guys we meet.

Any time a guy has stories of women hitting on him or aggressively making her interest known, that's not too helpful to desperate men IMO. Because those desperate guys obviously haven't had that happen to them.

But I digress. The moral is accurate. Get out there and mingle.

You are right I should have. The way it went down at first we were chatting as a group so I just went with the flow. She is a pretty girl and should have no problems finding herself a date if she hasn't already. No harm no foul.

No one is ever going to mistake me for Brad Pitts or Tom Cruise. If it could happen to me it could happen to almost anyone. Go out, relax, have a pint or three and just talk to people. Be normal.

You post this without knowing how long the interaction took place or what was said. Unlike the common retarded sense of manners and politeness prevalent in "femworld" today, reasonable men and women don't lead with "GF this, GF that, I have a GF, my GF always..." not because they are looking to cheat, but because it's RUDE and presumptuous to assume things until one knows them, it's BORING conversation to interject without reason, it's usually IRRELEVANT and a sign of self-absorption when meeting strangers to immediately begin detailing one's relationship status. Even though OP had a sense the woman was interested, he did not -know- that, so he proceeded as polite, well-socialized people do and introduced her around. OP isn't psychic, and his post is written in retrospect after she invited him. It isn't as if "hey I bet this woman invites me to a wedding," but "this woman appears interested, let's hear what she has to say."

He tries to encourage men here to get out because it's a good time to do so, great advice for lots of posters here who complain they can't meet women, offers an anecdote which could be cynically interpreted as somewhat self-aggrandizing, but doesn't really seem so to me, and gets the standard, "you didn't do what most benefits any particular woman in any particular situation, so I am going to scold you for that." LS response. Amazing.

I did not accuse anyone of cheating or assume anyone wanted to cheat. I also wasn't suggesting that he drone on about his gf or rub his relationship in anyone's face. There are a zillion ways to casually mention a gf once so that others get the idea and anyone who may have been flirting can redirect their attention elsewhere if they are actively looking. The OP clearly got what I was trying to convey based on his response to me.

Yeah that's definitely true. Any time we have a woman (desperate or otherwise) approach us it's to help them with homework or introduce them to our friend.
