beachbum5963 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I used to have a head shaved about 4 years ago. I never really knew if it looked good. I was wondering if I looked good with it and if I would now. I've been working out the last couple of years so I've gained a little weight. Thanks for the help! The first 2 pics were from 4 years ago. The last 2 pics are current. http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/beachbum5963/DSCF0834_zps4431339d.jpg http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/beachbum5963/DSCF0831_zpsb8a42941.jpg http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/beachbum5963/pink_zpsa40ee9cc.jpg http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/beachbum5963/IMAG01801_zps8244a56b.jpg
CudLRoo Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 In those pics, judging by your fringe stubble, you appear to be a guy with a full head of hair who's shaving it all off to try and look a bit bald. Only bald guys shave their hair, it's often the best option, and you're insulting them, also! If one can grow a full head of hair, it's a SIN not to. Do it while you still can!!!!!!! 1
MrCastle Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I think it is a look that works on everyone. I've never seen someone, male or female, and thought "wow...they really don't have the right head to shave their head. they shouldn't have done that." Even amber rose, a female, rocks a shaved head well. I've seen pictures of her with hair and truth be told, actually looks better with a shaved head, in my opinion. Natalie Portman in V, another female, and she didn't look hideous with a shaved head. If you want to shave it, go for it. You won't look bad.
amaysngrace Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 you should shave your head...you won't look like a dick with ears at all like some guys do

Haha I've actually got really thin hair. I was just debating if I should
amaysngrace Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 ^You have a shaven-head fetish, then, I guess? Nah... my exH use to shave his head sometimes and he was such a meathead that the back of his neck got rolls and it felt like a shar-pei. 2
40 Fonzarelli Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 You look more alpha with shaved head. I had a fauxhawk for the longest time and then shaved it short. I dont cut it that short though, maybe a 4 on top and 1 on the side.

amaysngrace Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Am I detecting sarcasm?? Haha I was being sincere. I think you'd look not like a dick head at all.

Do it while you still can!!!!!!! no. actually i have a full head of hair. well not as full as it was when i was 15. but i'm 30 now and shave my head. i get a 4 guard on the sides and back and about a half to a full inch off the top. looks good. i have a great head shape for it to in fact i got more compliments from men and women when i shaved my head then when i had a full head of hair.
Phoe Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I think the shaved head looks nice. Is it more convenient for you to keep shaved? Less maintenance? If so then there's another plus!
ChessPieceFace Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I miss my hair. That said I look pretty good with a shaved head too. I'm a guy, so I dunno if I should be judging, but of the looks you posted, the shaved head one is superior to the other two. Other idea (if your hairline can cut it) is trying a Thom Yorke look. For some reason that's the vibe I got looking at the first pic (even though he doesn't have a shaved head.)
Imported Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Just do it. Hair grows back anyway, not a big deal. Do it at various lengths to see what you like. I shave mine with a #2 guard which is 1/4" with the lever positioned to push the blade all the way forward. If you are going bald, this length will make it very apperant as it is not low enough to kinda blend in with your baldness and there is not enough length to hide it. Had different clippers, from the gimmicky ones "enhanced" for guys that shave their own heads to regular ones. Got a Wahl lithium ion cordless clipper and really liking it. Cuts my hair cleanly and I get more than 10 cuts out of it between charges....sure it could have done more. I still let my hair grow back out and get it cut by a pro. But my hair grows so fast, I always get it cut again by 10 days at $20 a cut. And that's pushing it, really I think it starts looking .....not clean cut....by 5 days and messy by 7 days. When I shave my own head, I clean the edges every 3 days and reshave everything every 7 days or so. I do like it longer than a #2 guard, but the #3 is too long. I like a #2 guard all around without a fade as a fade makes it look too military. I do clean up the edges with a #1 guard and the blending guard to make it clean looking, but that's not really a fade. Girls like me with my head shaved or when I grow it out and have it styled.
CudLRoo Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Tbh, I used to rock a grade 1 for many years, it was easier, and I have to concur that it did used to get me attention. Seems it's extremes with me, either I go all skinhead or I rock a Rambo-type look, anything inbetween and it doesn't work. Might as well keep the hair while it's there! In the UK, one of our most notorious baldies is a soap star called Ross Kemp, he used to play a hardman character and became a hit with British ladies, some of you might find this amusing: Kemp Folds PS: Absolutely safe for work, just amusing what people do when they're bored.

Hahaha! That site is funny. I'm Canadian but I know who Ross Kemp is from the show Extras (LOVE Ricky Gervais!)...and I just have to ask: women love Kemp? Really? Are you being serious? OP, you can totally pull off a shaved head!

OP, you can totally pull off a shaved head! Yeah, when he was Grant Mitchell in Eastenders, women loved him. He was a bad boy character mostly. His on-screen brother seems to be a hit too, which is strange.

I'm Canadian but I know who Ross Kemp is from the show Extras (LOVE Ricky Gervais!)...and I just have to ask: women love Kemp? Really? Are you being serious? Yeah! Started off in a cereal ad, lost his hair, then Eastenders, THEN some really bloody silly SAS action drama ('Ultimate Force', or something like that), he became like Britain's answer to Bruce Willis*, and does all these 'hard man' documentaries nowadays, where he goes out with a crew, filming soldiers and gangs and peeps like that! An unlikely heartthrob, but that's just the way it is. *Before Jason Statham swooped down and nicked that prize, big time. Wonder how the Transporter movies would have worked out with Kemp in the main role, lol. 1
dasein Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 You look fine, am envious. Have always wanted to shave my head, but it is too large and I would look either hydroencephalic or convictish.
CudLRoo Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 ^Mate, you offer some very insightful advice on here - get some clippers and give it a go, it's EASY (though the 'tugging' can be painful if you've originally got longish locks.) You won't know until you've tried, maybe the perceptions of others don't match your own. Try rockin' the skinheeeeeeeeeed, just once, doesn't take long for the dark hairs to 'ripen' again, and you REALLY save on shampoo n' conditioner.
SJC2008 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I think it is a look that works on everyone. I would NEVER shave my head.
Green Light Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 If a guy still has hair in his 40's it's worth more than gold. I still have most of mine and I realized that I'm using this Suave "Hair AND Body" wash and now I'm thinking I should get some actual good shampoo to treat my hair better while it lasts. Any suggestions?
