I live iin london in the uk and over a yea go i used to have spiked hair wich was quite short and had the spikey messup look. now when it come to dating and confidence i was fully on top of things even though i was a bit bigger ten, i mean i could go up to girl in a club and chat her up and if i took a nock back ten it didnt boter me cos i knew the next one of the one afer would like me and ill get a date and some digits. Well after a while of having spiked hair i decided to have a skinhead ddown to a number 1 and just get rid of it as it was getting on my nerves with all the wax in my hair. Now i still went out with the confidence that i had beefore but for love nor money could i even get a girl intrested in me at all. i have not since then had a date for a year and my confidence is almost none existant. So first of all for the lads. Have yourself ever experianced anything like this in reguards to womeen not being intrested because of the skinhead, if not anyone you know been through it. Now for the women. Do skinheads really put women off that badley as im actually a good looking bloke and i know its not my general looks. ever since i chopped the air off! any advise would be very gratfull D

For me I go crazy for the buzzed look, but out & out shaving of the head is a bit of a turnoff. Also, it could just be the trend over there to have kinda short messy hair on men and some women may like running their fingers through it, I dunno. But if someone is turned off just by your hair style, or lack thereof, then just tell em to sod off!

And no, dyer, just because someone is a skinhead doesn't mean they are a racist. There are all kinds of skinheads, as there are/were punks. Albeit in the States, it's kind of a bygone era, but it's still around. When I was punk rock girl, you could tell a person's "allegiance" by looking at the color of their shoelaces on their Docs. Mid to late '80s and early '90s. Even then, it was kind of a bygone era, but definitely still around.

If you are worried about it, maybe more women are into buzz cuts than skinheads though. Maybe I'm an anomaly.
Author spanishlover Posted September 7, 2004 Author Posted September 7, 2004 Well what i normally do is shave the whole lot off off and then let it grow to the buzzed look and then shave it off again. normally only takes less than 2 weeks to grow. ha ha and no im not racist. actually most of my friends are black or from India. (thought ide just mention that) Yea i understand that some girls like it but the majority don't give me a second look. now its come to the point where do i say OK enoughs enough and grow my hair just so i can get a date, or do i say no. i like my hair like this and i going to keep it.

I find certain guys with shaved heads pretty damn attractive, as well as really long hair. I'll say, however, that most girls seem to go for the boring, clean cut look. There are girls who won't like your appearance and there are girls that will find you attractive, just like any other guy. Do you go to concerts? Try to strike up a conversation with a girl about bands, etc. It's a great way to talk to someone without being obvious about flirting with them. I agree with Shamen--not all skinheads are racist, a lot of them just like to go to concerts, drink, mosh and smash **** up. I've known straightedgers who shave their heads as well. Skinhead racists used to be called "boneheads"; anyway, there are a lot of white supremacists who look like middle age golfers!
Author spanishlover Posted September 7, 2004 Author Posted September 7, 2004 Thank you morrigan. Well in my type of music DnB (drum & bass) we dont go to concerts we go to raves. (i believe that DnB is actually comming over to America) and unfortuantly raves , drugs, and fighting go hand in hand with my skinhead. a lot of blokes who go to these raves are white skinheads, but there are loads of other kinds races that go there as well. Yea during the day time im a businesss man (suited and booted) then at the weekend when i go out im me! Basically what im trying to say is that if were to go for a drink after work and see a girl in a bar and started talking to her se would normally say wnat kind of music you into and i tell them . and they kind of look at me in a diffrent way. I do mention im into RnB and hiphop and rap etc etc as well but it dont matter. Basially i feel personally that the image with skinheads as put a damper on me getting a girl ,and even though i like my skinhead as its cooler for me less hassel i am wondering if i sould go back to the old haircut. Let me know what u think. i have attached a pic of what ii look like now. you cant see my skinhead that well as its a crap picture and my mate wanted me to pose! but you get the general apperance. D

I used to love No.1’s (talking Shamen’s era here) but I find them a bit harsh looking on men now - I prefer a slightly more approachable No.3 these days. Grow it out a bit but I wouldn’t go back to your spikes, I’d definitely say that a bit longer is sexier – not so aggressive looking – and messy is good too, No.1’s are almost clinical. Will keep my eye open for some good styles this weekend and report back.
