Conor Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Okay, so I met this girl online, we've been texting for a few days and decided to meet up last night, she lives pretty local. So we meet up at about 9PM and suprisingly its not akward at all the conversations flowing and no awkward silences so we decide to go bowling, end up grabbing a drink inside the bowling place but got so distracted talking to eachother we didn't even play a game or leave our seats, before I knew it was 11:30PM and she said she had to leave as she's got work in the morning. So I took her as far as my stop on the tram (she had to stay on to get back to her way) and tried to go in for a hug, but as the doors were closing and the tram was kinda busy it was just rushed and pretty pointless. Anyways I text her when I got in to make sure she got back alright (we had a bit to drink and she had to drive home) and said I had fun we should do it again sometime when she's got a bit more time on her hands. I haven't heard anything back from her since, the thing is the date wasn't really romantic in the sense of loads of compliments, touching, or hinting at anything it was more getting to know each other and personal questions. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it there wasn't really any silences and conversation was pretty much natural and relaxed I'm just not sure were I stand, do I wait a few days and try to make another date?, or is she not into me? So what do you guys think?

So what do you guys think? so she was drinking and driving home so you rang her to make sure she wasnt around a telegraph pole..... why was she on the tram? i think natural conversation is a good start you were so distracted you didnt even bowl another good start and there was a hug at the end albeit an awkward one that confused me because it was on a tram.....but she drove home so ....is she a tram driver? isnt there a law against tram drink driving and could the hug have been awkward because she was driving the tram and trying to close the door at the same time......otherwise....i think you should set up another date because it sounds all good..walk home next time if you drink.......that way you can hold hands and enjoy non telegraph pole worries...best wishes....deb
Object_a Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 It sounds like you had a great date. I'd say definitely follow it up. Just send her a message saying you had a good time and would like to go out again. Make sure that's ALL you say - don't send her loads of gushing compliments and stuff or you'll seem too eager. Make a concrete proposal for a time and place to meet again rather than just 'let's go out some time' and that way you'll get a straight yes or no. And don't worry about the lack of 'romance' on a first date. You're both just getting to know each-other so it's hardly surprising that you're not all touchy. Good luck!
StanMusial Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 It reads like it went well, however the fact you met her off OLD is concerning. Because, she has probably had numerous emails and invitations since your date. If you like her you better try to lock up another date ASAP.
