There's a couple of male friends of mine that I know of, that seem completely content in being Friendzoned by women.....some of the women I've seen them with, some cute, some very attractive, too.

This one woman and guy, they had put pics of themselves up at a concert, one pose with them doing the "back to back" pose....a few other "non-intimate" poses.

Then I'd see another guy with 2 women sitting in his lap, laughing and having fun.

But what I don't understand is....how is it these men can't stand not dating these women?

Or, are they masking the fact that they're bothered by it?

Or, is it low testosterone maybe?

I know some of you might say, "Well, some people can be attractive, physically, but there might be attributes about them that they don't themselves actually dating each other".

I have my doubts on that for some reason though.

He says hes ok with it, but he really isnt. They hide it well.

Personally I dont waste my time on the friendzone unless Im friendzoning the girl as well. If Im attracted to a girl as more than friends, but she only sees me as a friend, then we wont be friends.

this is nonsense. so guys who don't screw everything with a vagina have low testosterone?

Well, I think men of a certain age, like when they get into their late 40's/early 50's, .....tend to be less "woman crazy" than their younger counter parts.

I recall, me , this one guy, and a couple other people....I saw him falling back with this female friend...they were walking along side us...but it looks like they were making attempts to be alone ....stalling following us to get to our destination.

Note, this is the first time he's ever met this woman....but did get to know her throughout the night....we all started off at a big party...then some of us split up in small groups and went our own way.

Anyhow, I noticed them hugging on each other, almost smooching, but not quite....very much gazing into each other's eyes....almost on the verge of kissing, but they didn't. It was strange...but it looks like they were hitting it off.

Then, I caught him on Facebook, and I said "Hey, it looks like you and so and so were hitting it off the other night!"

And he said, "What do you mean?

(pretending not to know what happened)

I said, "Well, you and that <woman's name>, you were...you know...'hitting it off'"

And he goes, "Nah, we're just friends"

Unless he got rejected or something after that night?

Have you considered that maybe he rejected her?

Not really, because she was attractive..and he isn't all that much to look at physically.

I could do it no problem but she would have to be a GENUINE friend. She would have to do things that friends do.. hang out... invite me places, accept invites from me, talk to me about random crap.

That's a flaw in your logic then. I have rejected women far more attractive than I. Even ones that where attracted to me, because while yes they where very pretty, personality wise we where not compatible.

Considering that I have removed the only female friend I ever be in any form of contact with off of my Facebook page, being "friendzoned" by one would be fine with me.

Considering my dating success, that would count as a moral victory.

Maybe these guys regard women as people who they can respect and be friends with, rather than objects.

Radical idea, I know.

This to an extent. I am wholly content on being single, but this girl at work keeps asking me out. I do enjoy her company, but I am not at all interested in a relationship, but if it makes her happy...I just don't want to lead her on, and I hope the messages I send her are trending in just that direction.

Maybe they are actually friends, as opposed to "in the friendzone".

Maybe they've already bonked each other silly, got it out of their system, and just haven't told you about it :bunny:

Its called respect.....looking at women as equals or peers and not as sex objects.

I am one of those guys who can easily just be friends with a woman.

Some of them may be looking at it as a neworking opportunity where the pretty woman has pretty friends.

I don't get all territorial about every girl I am friends with, even if I want to smash . To me, it's just networking :p.

Also they could have slept together before and dated---but they realized there were core differences thus a LTR/marriage just wouldnt work.

Friendship only works when both people genuinely want to be friends. When one is secretly attracted, it can't work.

I would accept the friend zone if I didn't like the chick.

I have been friend-zoned and didn't mind it. In fact, one my closest friends is an ex. who friend-zoned me. :)

When you're talking about friendships that span decades, it certainly doesn't hurt our point. In fact, it makes it pretty clear that people bond for reasons that go well beyond sex. The friendships would have died if any of those men truly minded being in the friend zone. I've never forced anyone to stick around and I certainly don't think that they're hanging about after 10, 15, or 20 years hoping to get back in my pants. :)

Talk to me in a couple decades if you still think it matters...

Ever think of the fact that the sex helped keep them around? Most folks bail a lot earlier.

... but back to the topic... I have male friends, most of them married or in a relationship. Some of them I became friends with after being friends with their wives for a long time. Others I was friends with him first and later became friends with their partner.

I don't see it as any different as being friends with a lesbian (I'm female) or two gay men being friends. Not everyone is going to be attracted to their gender of choice... and even if they were.... some people know how to keep their urges in check and have the proper priorities in life.

No sense ruling out a big portion of the population just because of how they were born.

Monica, let me add:

I know I feel more bonded to certain female friends than others because we had sex in the past.

However I dont seek to stay good friends with people Ive slept with. I avoid the kind of drama thatd bring to a new relationship with women I like.

Yea... Like 'hoe' and 'bitch'...

classy...

Who cares about classy when youre on an anonymous internet forum or talking amongst friends? Quit being so uptight.
