PhillyGuy86 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 My girlfriend and I broke up about a month and a half ago. It was initiated by her, but was somewhat mutual in our reasoning. For the first month I was doing fine. I was going out with me friends, exercising and being me. About two weeks ago I had a dream about her and now can't stop thinking about her, feeling very lonely. Last night I broke down and texted her and asked how she was doing and all I got was "fine" and she asked for the key to her place back. We're meeting in a parking lot to exchange some stuff this weekend. It just hurts incredibly bad to go from a two year relationship to nothing more than brief words and a brief parking lot meet up.
thewrongonee Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 It happens man, don't take it personally. I did the same mistake, it did not end up bad as yours but, we are all human. You went through the 'emotional roller coaster' phase, and it has happened to me many times. When you meet up with her, be confident.. DO NOT show any.. i mean any emotions that you miss her. Just act cool, and talk to her and before leaving, hug her and say your goodbyes. Start your new NC the right way, if you do it right.. she'll miss you; i promise.
mutant Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Now that you realize how painful it is to break NC, you don't have to endure the same again. simply send a friend to the parking lot for the exchange and stay away. 3

I hear you, man. Dealing with similar things after a 6 year relationship. You've come to the right place, though. Lots of folks on here dealing with similar heart aches and pains. Keep your head up!

It just sucks because I was doing well on my way to getting over her, and something just clicked to now I can't stop thinking about her and it's affecting my day to day activities.
veggirl Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I think you should send a friend to give her the key. If you see her, you are going to hurt even more. Or better yet just mail it to her. Honestly you're going to feel like s.hit when she just grabs the key and takes off. 1
