cosmicpanda Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Hey i was wondering on what some other people thought on shy guys"; I've been dating my bf for about 3 months and i finally got him to admit that he is shy. Now I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get him to open up. Any ideas? And hes kind of a nun so sex isnt going to do it if thats one of your first thoughts.
Toddbt12y1 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Im glad to see you spoke to him and he's playing along! He admitted to it. See?communication helps...now in time you might have a fun relationship...anyhoo ill let the females help you on this one.

Harradin Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Coming from a guy who is shy, I open up to someone when I'm ready. I find if they start opening up to me, I kinda have to start opening up too. So I guess if you keep opening up to him, he'll eventually start opening up to you.

I thought so too, but im such an open person. Me and him are like opposites. I guess than in this perspective hes not ready?
Harradin Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I thought so too, but im such an open person. Me and him are like opposites. I guess than in this perspective hes not ready? Yeah pretty much, you just have to keep doing what you're doing and he'll be ready soon.
Author cosmicpanda Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 Yeah pretty much, you just have to keep doing what you're doing and he'll be ready soon. Do you think its possible he could just be cheating on me or something? Cause he never wants sex and hes 20. lol.

You'd need more evidence then not wanting sex, he may just have low libido (I'm 20 and I have a ridiculously high libido but that's just how I am.)

Ohtay just thought that could have been another reason to why he never opens up to me. Thanks for your opinion.
sweetkiwi Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 It'll take a while to get him to open up. Just be patient and understanding. And hopefully once he does he'll have something to say except, "I don't know who I am" like my shy ex said. About the sex. I don't think it's normal. But there are an incredible amount of factors that are at play.

Toddbt12y1 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 He could have low-T. That can happen in young males too. Or he could be masturbating tooo much.
Author cosmicpanda Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 He could have low-T. That can happen in young males too. Or he could be masturbating tooo much. LOL, great. Once again we are absolute opposites. 1
Toddbt12y1 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I should hope you two are opposites in the T department...joking ofc... Lol...just ask.him and see if hes jackin off too much, and ask him to save it for your delight...lol 1
sweetkiwi Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 LOL, great. Once again we are absolute opposites. Assuming you're 18-24 most likely this will not be your last relationship. You wont want to believe me, but if the juice ain't worth the squeeze you'll know soon enough. Keep your whits about you girl!!!
Emilia Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Once again as I commented on similar threads before: I'm not really sure what good is supposed to come of something where the two of you are so different in terms of personality that you feel you have to walk on eggshells around him and that your sex drive is so different. Maybe he just isn't into people/a natural hermit? Why waste your time working hard at something that isn't likely to bring anything long term? I know guys get upset when I post stuff like this but women have the tendency to work hard at building these sand castles out of thin air.

Keep your whits about you girl!!! ya im 18, and thanks thats sort of what i think its comeing down to, if he dsnt realize after awhile than theres not much more i can do. We legit almost act no different than i would with most of my guy friends.
Author cosmicpanda Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 and yes Emilia i do feel like im wasting my time a lot with this one. In most cases opposites attract but i dont knw about in this case. Theres only so many things i can do which is why i wanted to see others opinions on cracking a oyster. lol. 1

Author cosmicpanda Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 As long as you don't feel you have to work it out it's all fine. I definately think i owe it a try first before i give up and tell him to accept himself before he can attempt to be with someone. 1
Emilia Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 tell him to accept himself before he can attempt to be with someone. I'd say it's unlikely that he will understand this yet as a 20 year-old but no harm in trying of course. 1
