digitallove Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I get way too uncomfortable around men that I panic and move as quickly and far away as possible. I can't sit next to them, talk to them, or even date them without panicking. I try to minimize contact as much as possible. My friend already thinks I'm weird for not having had a boyfriend or even kissed at 26. It doesn't bother me that I never did those things.. I still have time for that first date, kiss, ect.. online it is fine I have a male online friend but their presence in general confuses me and makes me want to flee.
Radu Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 From a guy who had -still has- the same thing about women, you cannot get over it. You need to gradually increase your exposure to them. I got some help from seeing them not as the opposite -hot- gender, but as just another person i was curious about. Essentially i desexualised them in my views, i removed all 'hope' of romantic/sexual future.
Object_a Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Just remind yourself that men are people too, and not some mysterious species from another world! If you let your fear get the better of you, people will pick up on it through your body language and it will make them feel uneasy. That's only going to make your interactions more awkward and scary. Just talk to them like you would talk to a female friend and you can't go far wrong.
