strongertoday Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Brand new to dating (in my 40's) and joined a dating site 4 weeks ago. Chatted to some very nice guys. Sent photos (nothing racey), chatted, bit of flirting, but then we seem to keep chatting and chatting and umm chatting. How long is the expected chat time before it turns from text to in person? Ive made it pretty clear I wont 'put out on the first date'... Im wondering if that is the turn off? Or am I just overthinking cause I have no idea lol
CarrieT Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I also did a lot of OLD in my 40s so here are a few pointers: There is a greater percentage of married men on these sites looking for affairs or just online communication. If you find a guy you are interested in, within a week or so I would suggest a coffee meet-and-greet.If they decline, move on.Don't invest a lot of time in the texting game - there is a LOT of game-playing in that arena.Don't wait for the guy to want to meet; no reason you can't suggest it and see how it reads. BTW, I am now engaged to a guy I met via online - but it took me several years and talking to and getting to know more than fifty guys (sometimes it was one or two exchanges and sometimes it was a coffee date or two) before I found a good one. Good luck!
rindeezzy Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 i did online dating before and met great guys. After they ask only few questions, I would suggest to meet for coffee and give them all the answers. if they didn't want to, i moved on. I found it suspicious when a guy just wants to chat and not meet in person. its so much easier to understand if you like each other or not when you actually see each other. do not waste your time with getting to know a person through online rather than in real life, he might be not who he says he is
