Steve11 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I've got quite a few items round my ex's and I want them back. I want to get them because I don't want to make out I'm struggling. Is it better to get them now whilst I'm still a mess or to wait until my heads sorted? I'd call to organise a convenient time, why hasn't she contact me asking when I'm collecting them? She only lives in a small place.
CarrieT Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Don't bother. In the grand scheme of things - unless it is a family heirloom - it is just "stuff" and usually not worth the headache and heartache to get returned.
philosia Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 If you really need them but you are a mess, ask a friend to do it for you. When I was in this situation and I still had things at him that he forgot to bring to me when we did the exchange, I just let them go. It was too hard for me to see him again.
Author Steve11 Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 It's a computer, tv, clothes etc. I really want to make out im ok, even if I'm far from it. Why wouldn't she ask when I'm coming to collect?
creighton0123 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Have a friend contact her and collect the items.

Set your pride and ego aside. It's foolish pretend you're okay when you're not. The only person that gets hurts is you. Get someone to pick it up for you. Tell her so and so will come get on day/time since you have not heard back.
CudLRoo Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Why wouldn't she ask when I'm coming to collect? They're odd, they always keep some of your stuff, they like to keep their options open, plus it creates a bit of power for them. My ex still owns a pair of very nice jeans of mine and occasionally slips it into the conversation on our occasional chats, she *knows* it will provide a potential opening to meet up, despite us not seeing each other for nearly two years. I can't tell you what to do, mate, but unless you aren't bothered about the stuff, or can't get anyone to pick it up, then you *might* have to see her again.
Author Steve11 Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 That's what I thought. That she's possibly hasn't mentioned it because it'll keep ties. But, that's hopeful, which doesn't help. If I got my things then I can just go away and try to forget about her. I texted her yesterday to wish her happy birthday, but got no response. She was away with friends tho.
