tall_blonde Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 More than once, my boyfriend has told me that he feels unhappy and empty because he will be 40 next year and is single and has no children. Question 1: Is he trying to see how I react to this or what I say? Usually I just listen to him vent. Question 2: How do I subtly tell him I want to get married and have kids too without sounding either hurried to do so or like I'm pressuring him? I really do want to marry him at some point but I'm afraid I might be misreading these comments.

He has you so it is that he is unhappy and empty because of not having children? Or is it in general he is that way. I would say, talk to him about how you feel. I think I would feel a little hurt because, he is with you yet he claims he feels those things. Talk to him be honest with how you feel. Or maybe, You should ask him to marry you????

Are you almost 20?
