Why did I accept this date.... ugh...

So this is more of a rant than looking for advice.

Been planning to meet this girl all week. We were messaging back and forth, really flirty, planning to get drinks, go dancing, all that good stuff... so she was only free Saturday, I figure sure, usually wouldn't do a first date on a Saturday since first date is usually the boring "lets sit at a table for 5 hours asking me about my hobbies" dates but seems like she's up for a fun night out, could spend it worse ways.

Texts me just now... she's driving out to where we're meeting, not drinking, needs an early night... i.e. We'll sit with a diet coke together and go home by 10pm...

I seriously just want to cancel and go out with my friends now but that'd be a kind of a jerk thing to do I know...

... seriously though... ****ty thing to do. Saturday is the worst day possible for a first date when people have made plans, why lead me one way then then drop that bomb with an hour to go....

Ugh, oh well.

Couldn't you just meet up with your friends after the date?

Be happy with what you have. Many dates don't last 30 minutes.

Why would it last less than 30 minutes? I'm not a mute.

Because she has 30 other options. But then again if you can charm the woman, there won't be any worry of that.

Let her have 50 other options, they can't complete.

Feel like she's wasting my time now though. I'd have done the "nice get to know you drinks" on a Wednesday or something.

Cutting a date short on a guy you are just about to meet suggests she made other plans and is just sandwiching you in. I'd cancel and find someone who can give me their time. She is acting like this is a nuisance date.

She could also have something important going on early the next morning, so who knows...I'd just have gone on it and seen if anything went from there

On a Sunday?

Who knows, might have to take someone to the airport, involved in something starting early at a church, may be going to visit family and leaving early, etc

So. How did it go?

It went pretty good in the end.

I didn't really like her shifting the goal posts right before the date. If it was a casual "lets get a coffee" kind of date I'd meet someone on a Tuesday night, if someone is up for a night out, I might give up my Saturday plans.

I knew she wasn't blowing me off, I know she's really into me.

We ended up out until after midnight anyway, we got talking and it was pretty good, little making out before she went home.

Not a crazy night but can't complain, pretty nice girl.
