Sometimes it's pretty difficult for some of us to distract ourselfs from thinking about our exes or checking up on their social media life. I thought it would help to list some distractions used to stop or what distractions have been most useful to you, and how you eventually just stopped worrying altogether. Maybe some activities or quotes or things to remind ourselves when we have the urge.

If they have cheated on you - just remember how it felt when you found out.

I would say the best thing that takes it out of my mind is the gym. I will think of it all as soon as as I leave the gym but while I'm there focusing on the task at hand I don't have any negative thoughts on my mind. A good hour to two hours of thinking about myself (for a change :)).

Secondly, activities with friends. Luckily one or two friends have been very good to me and have stepped in to pick me back up. We've done laser tag, bowling, go-karting, watched movies - a whole load of enjoyable social activities. It doesn't cross my mind for a second when I'm doing any of this stuff.

Finally I would say going out for drinks with friends. It doesn't totally eradicate the memories but they fade for a while. A word of warning on this though - heavy drinking will let you be fun, free and will let you forget but the following day is absolute misery, a real downer. Alcohol is a depressant and the hangovers are awful. So by all means go for drinks, but keep it at a sociable level. Just enough to have fun, but not too much that will prevent you from being cool the following day.

These are great :) and they really help. It's always great to fill up the space with the things you love to do
