Madison123 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I met a very nice guy at a drinks and dinner Meetup under 2 weeks ago. He came and sat next to me and we had a really great conversation until the organiser asked everyone to move seats so everyone could mingle and talk to each other. I then got engrossed in conversation with a few other guys who came to sit near me. Before he left, he asked me if he could send me a message on meetup which he did about an hour later. The message said he enjoyed meeting me and he hoped he wasn't being too forward but that he would like to meet up again to get to know each other better and if I was interested we could exchange numbers and go from there. The following evening I replied with my number. Two days passed, he called and we had a nice long chat. He called again the following day. Since we first met I would say we have had 4 fairly lengthy chats but no mention of meeting up. He was working last weekend which was fine but we both had a day off on Monday which he knew about but didn't follow up on. Anyway the reason for my confusion is that the last time we chatted, he said he wanted to ask me a question so naturally I thought he was going to ask me out on a date. But instead he told me he was planning to do a trek abroad in favour of a charity he supports and asked me if I wanted to come and if I had any ideas?! I quite like trekking and walking but I hardly know this guy and he hardly knows me so not sure why he would basically suggest going on holiday together. I said I might be interested in doing the Inca trail as I mentioned it was something I wanted to do at the dinner. I think its very odd and it signals to me that he just wants to be friends because if he was interested he would have just asked me out by now. I am quite confused so if anyone can shed any light on this, please do!
amolya Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Maybe tell him you'd possibly be interested but would like to get to kow him better before jumping in on this trek? Then suggest meeting up, and from your one-on-one meeting you'd be ale to tell if he is romantically interested (eg if he flirts) or not
