Hi, I feel as though I have way too much, not just talking about gadgets but I feel like as a only child I have been spoiled rotten by my parents and grandparents, I know it seems weird to be complaining about something like this bit I feel as though I get way too much money on my hands each month. I only go to college. I just sometimes feel like maybe I don't appreciate things as much as I should. I want to, but sometimes it just makes me feel so low thinking about it. I don't know why I feel guilty I just do.

If I were you, I wouldn't feel guilty. It does nothing to help either you or anyone else.

What I'd do is maybe think about giving to charity or helping out somehow...giving back, so to speak.

If you're not into that, try to divert your focus elsewhere. It's good that you know how lucky you are financially and it's fine to be aware that you may not appreciate everything material that you have because you have ample, however you're still fixated on the financial side. Try to switch to another part of your life and perspective. Do you have any hobbies? Do you have any passions? Things you just really love to do? Make music? Draw? Write? Sing? Paint? Run? Play any sport? Anything at all.

Focus on doing things you enjoy instead of buying things or feeling bad for buying things and having things, and it may help your mindset a bit.

easy fix - put 50% of all the money you get every month into a brokerage or savings account and dont spend it on stupid ****.

That way, you'll save up a nice emergency fund while getting rid of that guilt you're talking about.

Or just tell your parents to give you less money

I really wish I had your problems...

Actually, can you send some money my way as well? lol. Say about $10,000 to cover the credit card debt I accrued years ago because my upbringing was also spoilt and I never realised that money wouldn't always be there?!

I'm a bit of a trust fund baby and I hate it. Don't have to work so I don't. I don't value the money I have because it was given to me, not earned. I'm good at pretending I do something interesting and challenging when the inevitable question of what I do for a living comes up but it always feels kind of empty. I don't really do anything for a living. There seems to be an essential part of life missing. Not having to struggle and fight a little bit to make it. Not being punished for my failures. I envy the guys I see pounding the pavement working a regular job.

I don't have too much money, but I like to spend my money in ways that other people might consider stupid. People are always like, "Dude, did you really just mix Blue label with diet coke?" and I'm like, "smooooootttthhhhhh, it's gud". People are always arguing about who should foot the bill on dates, but I'll meet a girl and take her out on a ridiculous date, I love doing that **** and it's not just to have sex with her. When it's my turn to buy the rounds, I don't cheap out. I'm bringing in pizza for everyone at my job? It's gonna cost me because I hate cheap crappy tasting pizza and I wouldn't bring anything less than the best to someone else as well. Girl scout cookies? I got about $500 worth each year because I can't say no when I see them selling them in front of stores. I donate a pretty good chunk of my paycheck to the Children's hospital because I can't imagine my little nieces and nephews not having medical care when needed if we were a poor family. I like spending my money at small businesses even though it cost a little more because I think they should stay in business. You a bum begging for money on the side of the road? Chances are good I do have some change for you.

Splurge, live the good life and spend your money for other people. I like seeing people happy around me.
