I sometimes get these "thanks but no thanks" responses. I usually respond by saying something like "ok. Thanks for letting me know."

 

I used to always respond to first-contact messages from women (at least, the ones that didn't seem like scams) even if I wasn't interested. I stopped doing that when one of them got nasty with her response, so now I just ignore messages from women I'm not interested in.

You all are some sensitive guys that get mad at thanks but no thanks. I would hate to imagine the reactions you would get if you had half of the very harsh rejections I use to receive.

Here is a novel concept... Stop Online Dating. As much as the OP complains about it, you would think he would.

 

Anyway...

 

Based on the results I hear from friends, co-workers, etc. about OLD... It is full of rebounders, desperate, crazy or people looking for sex. I am actually talking about people that went on the dates too. Between them all, probably 1,000+. Which is why they all gave it up.

 

Only one person I knew every married off of OLD. What did he win?

 

Since marry her... She quit her job and has refused to work. She has gained about 75 pounds in less than 5 years. Doesn't think he should have any friends but her. Is the most jealous person I have ever heard of.

 

Based on what I hear, see and read about OLD and meeting someone like PhillyDude... Girls (or guys for that matter) would have better luck at a truck stop.

 

 

 

And if he files for divorce she gets half lol

why not just ignore the message and delete it instead of instead of sending that silly a$$ "Thanks but no thanks". That's why most of the time a guy will send a nasty message because most woman want to go out of their way to reject a guy.

 

 

That's the difference between men and woman, a man will never respond to a woman who is not his type. why do woman do it? Oh I know, "YOU WERE BEING POLITE!!:laugh:

 

 

I haven't read the entire thread, but some men actually find it impolite if a woman doesn't respond with a 'no thanks'. This is one of those situations where it might be worth stating on one's profile that one will respond only if there seems to be something worth pursuing ... but then even that might seem rude and offend people.

 

Bottom line: you can't please everyone.

It's amazing to see how completely disconnected one person can be from his own reality and the external world.

I'm ok with getting no response. If they don't respond then I get it, and I move on. I don't respond myself either if a women emails me, and I'm not interested.
