Imajerk17 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I want to put a picture in my online dating profile that has other people in them. Do I need to ask them (the other people in the picture) for their permission?
mammasita Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I don't believe so, but to be safe, you can always photoshop their faces.....like just blur them out or something.
Cutiepie1976 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I never thought to do this when I used an online dating site, however it was a site with very limited visibility and wasn't searchable. I'm very social, so pretty much all my pictures have other people in them or are action shots of me engaged in some activity. If it was a male friend in the photo, I cropped him out and used it as a face shot. If it was women, then I just used the full photo. More than a few of my dates recognized mutual friends. A little unnerving since I was dating in one of the largest metro areas in the world. It's a much smaller world than we realize, especially if you screen prospects a certain way. Crop where needed if you're concerned.
CptObvious Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Take a new picture. Get swoll and flex in front of the mirror too for the best results. 1
mammasita Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Take a new picture. Get swoll and flex in front of the mirror too for the best results. ....with only a towel on. 1

Actually, this made me smile. One guy who contacted me photoshopped a big white box over his wife even though they were over a foot apart. He could have easily cropped out half the photo without anyone noticing. Instead you saw the edges of her white veil, the bottom of her wedding dress, and her red fingernails peeping out of this bizarre white box. He was probably hard up for photos, but even then!
Cutiepie1976 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 ....with only a towel on. ...and make sure the bathroom is visibly cluttered and messy in the reflection in the mirror! 1
TheGuard13 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 How about costumes? Is it cool to post pictures of yourself in costumes? (I do theatre, and to heck with anyone who isn't cool with me dressing up).
FitChick Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I got an email from a guy who used his photo on his driver's license.
MidwestUSA Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I got an email from a guy who used his photo on his driver's license. Which is a step up from the obvious mugshots I get!
Cutiepie1976 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Well at least you can confirm they are current by the dates on their criminal convictions!
ana0pera Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 my friend's roommate put a picture of her w/ two of her roommates up on OKC and this guy messaged her to ask if her friend in the picture was single. so crop out others, it takes the attention off of you to have other people in the picture. online dating is all about marketing yourself and you do yourself a disservice to include other people in the picture. editing photos is not that hard, we're not talking about photoshopping imperfections, just a simple crop job
CptObvious Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 ....with only a towel on. Awwww yeah. Bitches love towels. 1
