leigh305 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 i met this guy online. we our first date last weekend, and at the end he gave me a hug and asked me out again. we went on our second date, which seemed to go well, good conversation, etc. at the end he walked me to my car and hugged me, but no mention of another date. I know he was going out of town for the weekend with a friend, but I still haven't heard from him (date was Thursday night). i was pretty much the one to pursue him. I started messaging him, and finally jokingly asked him how much more effort I had to put in before he asked me on a date before he officially asked me out. he's told me a few times he's not very assertive when it comes to dating, and women he's dated in the past were the aggressors and initiated things. since we started talking, we've always texted regularly, and I was the one to text first after our first date. anyway, do you guys think I should text him something like "had a great time last Thursday. hope you had a good weekend"? or should I just drop it? thanks for the help
gypsysoul28 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I am no expert, but if it were only this past Thursday--I would wait until Wednesday or Thursday or even next Sunday to text something. Most guys if they are going to ask for a weekend date will do it by Wednesday. I would at least give it that time--
Michelle83 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 finally jokingly asked him how much more effort I had to put in before he asked me on a date before he officially asked me out. What did he say to this question? It wasn't clear, he said that in the past he's always not been the aggressor? If so, I think that's your answer. I wouldn't text him too often with just casual talk but wait a few days since you last spoke, ask how he's doing, and then ask him out again. If he flat out told you that he's never been an aggressor, then you may have to be prepared to go after it a bit more...as odd as it may feel given the role reversal.
