justinje Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Hey All, So I'm three months into my break up and doing tons better than initially. I don't think about her all the time, I don't want to text her all the time, I don't have anxiety. I realize now how dumb and mainly hypocritical her reasons were for leaving and I've been doing my best to move on with my life. One thing is still confusing me, every time I drink, and I mean from 3 beers on, I end up thinking about her a lot and wanting to text her. This has happened every single time in the last month. When I go out with buddies or girls I"m seeing if I have enough to drink to get buzzed at the end of the night I find myself thinking of her and wishing I was going home to her........has anyone else had this happen to them? I'm not an alcoholic, I"m just 24, only drink maybe a couple times a week to socialize and go out friends (what your suppose to do when getting over someone). Anyone's thoughts would be helpful.
creighton0123 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Don't drink. Or at least don't drink until you have someone else intimate in your life that you want to call whist buzzed :-P
Darren Steez Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 You can't go out with friends without drinking? Yes you're young but if drinking is making you think of her, then try not to drink then you might not think of her
TaraMaiden Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Alcohol is a known depressant, and makes your brain lower your psychological defences. If you're happy - genuinely happy - you're happier with alcohol. If you're miserable - genuinely miserable - alcohol can put you on a real downer.
