Embee Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I feel like such a dork right now. My neighbor invited me and my roommate to his new wife's Birthday party last Friday. At 8:30pm there was no sign of my roomie, so I threw on a pair of jeans, some sandals, no make-up, and headed over. I was introduced to this guy that works with my neighbor. He is a triathlete like me and was cute and nice. I broke off talking to him during the evening a couple of times to chat with others, but at various times during the eve, we met up again. At the end of the night, he offered to give me his number. I also wrote down mine for him. I am wondering why a guy would give out his number, instead of asking me for mine? I offered up my number, afterall. I did not hear from him so against all my principles, I went ahead and phoned him yesterday late afternoon. I got his voicemail and left him a message inviting him to go ocean swimming with my triathlon club on Sunday. This sucks. I want to be the pursued. If he doesn't call today, I am going to be bummed. Why would a guy not call first? Was he just trying to be polite? Did he think, 'no way will she call me.' He could have just shook my hand, said nice meeting you and left. Anyone ever been on this side of the fence? Boy, I really am not patient,
Papillon Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Gender roles aren't what they used to be. Men are so god damn confused by all the conflicting messages that we've received from women in the last three decades, that we've just bunkered down for fear of offending the "holy" woman. If we pursue a women, then we're sex maniacs It's sad, but that's the way it is. And of course a side effect of this is that beautiful women always end up with men that don't respect them, because those men were cocksure and arrogant enough to hit on them without flinching.
