So if you don't share a common interest in gaming, it is unlikely improvements will happen.
Els Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Oh, people most definitely meet and fall in love while playing video games. I met my bf that way when we were both in college (though we were playing IRL in a cyber cafe, not online) and we've been together for several years now. A few people on the LDR forums have met that way and so have some of my guildies. Some of them are married with kids and some are in LTRs. A few dated for a while and didn't work out ultimately, but that's how life goes. I wouldn't say it can 'improve' your love life though. That's like saying 'going on cruises improves your love life' just because some people happened to meet on a cruise. You can potentially meet your partner anywhere. Important thing is talking to people and being open to the possibility of things developing. I will say though that video games have horrible odds for guys if you're playing the 'numbers game'. Girls are more common in some games, notably WoW, and are close to equal in cosplays and anime fandom, but the game I met my bf while playing had something like a 30:1 ratio of guys to girls. When I turned up for tournaments (the only time you actually know everyone in the cyber cafe because your college books it all up), I used to be the only girl in a competition that had about 6 groups of 5 people.
