mishy Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 This is reposted from a thread by geegirl, but its old and cant accept replies so i wanted to repost it because This analogy copletely describes what i have been doing!!! "A man found himself in the middle of a long hallway. In the middle of this long hallway was a solitary door. He walked up to the door and knocked on it. It was answered by a clown who proceeded to beat the life out of him. The next day, the gentleman was in the hallway once more, and once more found his way to the door and knocked on it. Again, it was answered by the same clown and again, the clown beat him senseless. This occurred for 4 more days - the man would be in the hallway, go to the door, knock on it, and the clown would answer the door only to beat him senseless once more. On the 7th day, the man was once again in the hallway. He walked up to the door and knocked on it - but no one answered. So, he went looking for the clown." 3

destroyed4sho Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 The clown sometimes pops his head out from.the door to see if we are still waiting...lol 1
adelia Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Wow so true. I had a clown in my life and I'm ashamed I kept knocking at his door. It wasn't because I enjoyed being beaten emotionally it's because I wanted so desperately the other qualities he'd show me to string me along. That and having a heart to big and wanting to change him. I learned the hard way you can't change someone nor should you want to. Clown is very fitting he was continually laughing at how he could manipulate me. Eventually I did stop knocking on his door.
na49 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I read this last night and I loved it. I'm happy you reposted it. The clown that is causing me pain is a female, but trust me, she is much scarier. Sometimes I feel like I'm looking for the clown, but other times I feel like I'm doing everything I can to avoid it so that I don't get hurt more and sometimes even when I do everything to avoid her, she still shows up somehow and hurts me.
cdt76 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I doubt I'll ever hear from my clown. What an ego boost it would be too. But it will never happen.

Your clown was throwing you a trail of breadcrumbs so you can follow her. Thank goodness you never followed them, it would of turned out.to be just another beat down, so to speak.
