Well, I write songs in my spare time...and I've done this one today about my situation. Well, it's sort of a cryptic take on my breakup which was back in early December last year. It's called Love Machine (it's not a song proclaiming my prowess in the sack, ok? lol). It's about how someone (me) wants a love machine to give love and to show love to and to grant her the wish of having back that person she once loved...and not being scared to love again.

Anyone who would care to listen to a rather melancholy / whimsical song about someone searching for love and wishing forever, the link to it is below. :)

I think if I couldn't write songs I'd have lost it completely.

Thank you!!!

When my ex first left me, I didn’t get to do any music for a few weeks because for the first 2 weeks, I just couldn’t. Then the next 2 weeks I was away visiting family and friends for Christmas. Then when I got back home, I wrote 3 songs in 1-2 weeks…all expressing and channeling my various progression of feelings. The first one was basically aimed directly at him as a guilt trip for breaking me and devastating me (called “Shattered Glass”. A very sad song). The next one was angry about how he left me without telling me properly (the chorus hook was “You told me in a song”).

So yeah. Since that earlier time I’ve moved away from talking to him in my songs. That was a natural progression. I know he isn’t there anymore or listening (he used to always listen to every song I wrote. Even before we got together he was my most loyal and supportive audience), but for 2 years he was my muse and inspiration, and he obviously still is. I used to only ever write about quirky things NOT love related, but now all my stuff is various takes on love songs.

Anyway…thanks!

I think that's so human after a breakup to think a lot about that person and vent it's all part of dealing with the pain.

You wouldn't have any problem with an audience your music is awesome. The love machine one I had in my head this morning! Have you done an album or just as a hobby?

Keep sharing your songs!

Thank you so much!!

I haven’t done an album, no, but I DO have enough songs to MAKE an album and I would love to get them recorded properly with session musicians in a professional studio and then do a real album and do this as a proper career. Right now it’s just a hobby in my spare time. Maybe one day…

I was half asleep last night on the couch watching TV and thought…my ex will never hear any of my songs again, how sad. And then I thought…no wait, yes he will. He will hear them when they’re on the radio. HAH! lol

It could happen! Most musicians just started off as a hobby what you're doing!

You're lucky to have something like that as an outlet.

Think of it this way Maybe there will be a new special guy that will get to listen to those songs and I'm betting he will appreciate them more!
