Hey guys,

Just found out some great news. My good friends Paul and Jackie just got engaged. This is exciting and somewhat sad news for me. As Paul is a longtime friend of mine, and Jackie is a very good friend of my ex's...and we sort of helped to hook them up.

It's just one more reminder that though things seem tough, they get better. I've seen Paul go through his share of heartbreaks, and if I have to go through a tough time, I'm happy to see that it helped him find the one for him.

Two positives off the top of my head:

1) Reconnecting with people who I didn't hang out with as much when in the relationship and

2) Being the most fit I've ever been in my lifetime.

Thanks for this post :)

I'm honest with myself. I'm doing it so when I'm finally ready to start really dating, my success rate is that much higher. Hahaha.

After my BU, I had downfall period of a month or so. But after that, I've been great with my diet, toned up some more, started to take yoga to help me relax and get proper sleep and made me confront my worst fears - fear of abandonment. I read a lot about that, and I got so much out of that.. it would have never happened, had I not reached the bottom, last October.

He showed me just how much I was capable to love (wasn't aware of that before), made me aware of my flaws but most importantly, it taught me to be patient. I have no idea how to wait. I know now.

This experience made me ask myself what I am really looking for in a man, made me question my priorities and made me be a lot less superficial in judging people / potential dates. Made me become stronger, a lot less dependent on the others. Gave me a fantastic insight into male behavior and attitude. made me take of the pink glasses I was looking at relationships through.

Yeah, it scared the hell of me too - or should I say, the violence/ intensity of my feelings for him did that, but that comes with the territory. Hard hard lesson, but extremely enriching.

And... I met his best friend's at the time girlfriend. She and I became close friends, even spent last weekend at the mountains, together. Life is funny, that way.
