So because of an offer I got from Match, I decided to lay 25 bucks on the table for a month and see what happens. Shockingly, not only did I get an email response, but an actual meet up agreement. I said I'd give her a call to set an exact date, and place.

My question though is how long of a phone convo should I have with her? I'm kinda worried that if it lasts too long, then it'll be a struggle to chat when we meet up. I realize that if everything is clicking, it shouldn't be a problem, but I'm the type of person that thinks about every angle that can play out. Would a simple 15min call be suffice? Thanks

Umm wouldn't a 1 minute call suffice? All you're doing is setting up a date not sharing life stories, right?

Five minutes would be sufficient. But do yourself a favor and stop over thinking every single angle. Otherwise you may just find yourself here in years to come complaining about your dating success. Need proof? Look no further than the first few pages.

I suppose. Kinda feel like dick just calling, getting in, and getting out just like that. A quick 10min little chat should be good. Really, what's the worse that can really happen right....

Do what you feel comfortable with. You won't know, of course, until you actually pick up the phone.

10 minutes is usually about what I do, call ,say hey, ask how their day has been, tell them something funny that happened and then set up the date and end the conversation.

Do what you feel, 10-15 minutes should be fine. However I have found that if I'm really clicking and never running out of something to talk about on the phone with a potential match, that the same chemistry will be there in person so a long phone call has never hurt me.

Good luck!!

Thought I'd post a little follow up on this. So I call last Monday night, and everything is going great. Seems like we're clicking, she's laughing at my jokes. Setup a coffee meetup the next day. Low and behold, she doesn't show. No response from any texts, or voice mails. What a joke. I'm still wondering what I could have done, or said wrong, but at this point, it's pretty meaningless. At least didn't have to drive more than 15mins away.

Don't question yourself, what you should/could/would have done. It's nothing you did or didn't do. She's playing games, or just didn't take the meeting seriously. Sadly, it happens a lot in OLD. Chin up, try again and good luck!

It is nothing you did, if you went back in time there is no way to make her show up.
