How do you react when it's obvious that someone is trying to figure something out about you? When it's something they don't want to outright ask so they try to be sneaky, but you can tell they are up to something.

Usually I can tell what they are doing if they randomly ask me a question that is seemingly unconnected to the conversation. Then once they have their answer, they cut me off in the middle of my sentence because they don't need to hear anymore. They've figured out what they wanted to know. Who knows WHAT exactly that thing is - probably something bad, if they can't bring themselves to straightup ask me. Or sometimes, they will ask me a question that they already know the answer to, almost like they are testing me.

I really hate that! Do you call them out on it, or do you just let it go?

It depends on the person and what it is they are trying to figure out. I may be forthright. I might be evasive. I might outright lie to deceive the individual.
