What it was for you/your friend/parents/whomever. Just a poll type thing, out of curiosity. How long were you dating your SO when you knew s/he was the one?
Eggplant Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 The happily married women I know all pretty much knew right away that he was the one but had to wait a year or two while the man slowly got there. Haha! You fall head over heels, and you wait the requisite year or so to let the intense chemistry die down a little and to make sure you aren't too blinded before you make such a commitment. Nominally 18 months? Just a guess...

Do you mean "spend the rest of your life with someone"? Do you mean "being exclusive and monogamous"? Or do you mean "legally married"? Or do you mean "financially inter-connected" and "compatibly co-habitating/living together"? People can fall in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together; but spending money on a wedding, becoming legally married, financially combined, and living together - can create problems that doom relationships.
