lol speak for your self ES, I've been told I look a lot better than when I was younger. To be fare, that probably has a lot to do with the fact that i know how to dress myself now, and I'm no longer a bean pole.

Define 'older'.

I think for being on the doorstep of 39, I'm pretty bangin. But I'm also in really good shape (athletic), have all my hair (and then some) and can still act like a guy in his 20s. I don't know that I look better or worse than I did at 25, but I know I look good. And most people think I'm 30 tops.

OK guys, send over the pics to mesmerised and me and we will get back to you :p

Women have tied "Femininity" to "Beauty" - because that is one of the differentiators between women and men. A woman who lacks "beauty" is considered an "asexual butch person" - and that is a label straight women want to avoid.

So by criticizing a woman's beauty or lack of beauty, a woman will get defensive because she is being labeled as "less of a woman."

Its similar to calling a man "wimpy or weak" because men with testosterone are supposed to be biologically physically stronger than women. Calling a man wimpy would be similar to questioning a straight man's sexuality.

So women, attempt to control the "beauty conversation" by building up their confidence, to protect themselves against rejection from men.

But, for some women who believe the beauty hype and not the reality, they may be missing out on reasons men are rejecting them, and not putting enough effort on improving their beauty or their personality.

I think age can look very attractive on both men and women. I love salt-n-pepper on men (hair and stubble). I'm a sucker for crow's feet, too. I think they exude warmth, like a permanent mark of a happy life.

I agree. I was talking to this woman at Target the other day who looked to be early 40s and she was absolutely stunning. Her age gave her this charm that I can't even describe. Too bad she was married.

This is good to know as my beard is now like this and I've been thinking of shaving it off completely because my hair isn't gray. However, when I take the beard down to a 5 o'clock shadow it looks decent.
