soverynewtothis Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I am 48 hours into heartache. 49 hours ago, we shared the goals of marriage and children and moving to Houston to start a new life. 48 hours ago he told me he doesn't think he shares those goals anymore, that he may be making the biggest mistake of his life, but that he couldn't go on knowing his goals changed. Today, Valentine's Day, a day that he doesn't believe in because it's a Hallmark holiday, a day that we agreed a week ago we (he) decided we wouldn't be celebrating, I received flowers and a card that read on one side "I love you very much and I can't wait to be with you in Houston" and on the other side "As of 2/12/13: P.S. I'm Sorry..." WTF? He obvioulsy ordered these recently, but had to call the flower shop to have them change the message on the card once his "goals changed." Why not change the card entirely? Or better yet, cancel the delivery all together? And how did his goals change so drastically between ordering the flowers and 48 hours ago?
ak8o8 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Sorry to hear about your situation. I think many of us have similar experiences and we can't explain what happened and it's almost pointless to wonder why. My ex wanted me to fly home to meet her family in November and we talked about marriage and children and moving to another state together. She broke up with me in December shortly after we returned. The hardest part is accepting that it is what it is and then moving on from it. If it was meant to happen, it will happen. In the meantime, focus on yourself. It gets better with time...way better.
KatZee Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I really don't have much to say about this. Just wow. Every time I think I've seen it all, I'm shown yet again the sheer stupidity of individuals. I think most guys these days are brain dead. Seriously.
