Ohyesi Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 My gf is on holiday in cancun, Mexico. We've been together for almost 3,5 years! I shouldn't worry since we've a quite good relationship. But since we've been together that long, and we both are only 21 years old, something says me she wants to move on. I feel she doesn't want to stay with me. We've done a lot of things together so she might feel it is enough. We have been on 3 months holiday for example!! Everything has been perfect!! We enjoy each others company very well! And I've had the best 3,5 years of my life, and I bet she has too!! But it keeps worrying me that she distances me a bit now while she's in Mexico (US too), mabe I shouldn't write to her everyday as I do but I do really miss her and feel a bit miserable not having her around. I spend my time in Spain at the moment visiting carnivals and family, though I feel empty and miserable! I've also started planning what we should do when she gets back! But I'm afraid also she might bring some bad news though I shouldn't be! But anyway I'm suffering from her absence and I would like to now how you guys out there in the same situation feel or have felt!!
TaraMaiden Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Look at the reply I posted in this thread. Barring the baby, much of it applies to you, too....

At least be glad that she is not in Cancun next month when it is springbreak for U.S. College students... then I'd worry. And at least she isn't in New Orleans right now for Mardi Gras. What will be, will be. Just stay possitive and have fun in Spain. When your GF gets back you two can discuss her trip. How long is she in Cancun btw?

I try to sleep so much I can to make time go faster. It's fu king horrible I'm miserable, guess I need go to therapy for this. Btw she'll has been there for a while and will be out for 3 more week!! Y would u care?
KoKo0 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Thats not a very long time, you can do it. It is best to talk to her about the situation and how you two feel once you see her again. good lucj
CC12 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I'll be honest. I wouldn't want my boyfriend to be miserable without me. I want him to be his own person. I would want him to miss me, but I would still want him to be able to be okay. If he walks around like a shell of a human being if we're not together, that would make me feel guilty and I really don't need that burden. He needs to be independent and I don't want his life to revolve around me. So my advice is to keep going out and doing things, but really focus on being present and having a good time, not agonizing over your girlfriend being away. You've been with this girl your entire adult life so it's not surprising that you're very attached, but you need to learn to be okay being by yourself. Independence is a life skill that everyone needs. Now seems like a great time to figure out how to do that. 1
