My sister has been gaining weight for about 2 years. The problem is that she got a laptop, and now she is super lazy. I finally got her to start exercising with me, so that is good. What bothers me is that I'm bothered by her weight. I want her to be attractive, even though looks don't matter too much, and especially don't matter at her age. (13) I also want her to be healthy. What should I do?

There is nothing you can do beyond encouraging her to exercise with you.

The rest has to come from her. YOU want her to be attractive. SHE has to feel attractive all on her own - you can't do that for her.

I was and have always fought weight issues and the worst times were when someone asked me to lose weight. That made want to dig my heels in and eat more and be more lazy.

Again - the desire to exercise has got to come from her, although you can encourage her to join you. But don't harp on her weight. Just compliment her when you see small changes that my make her want to continue.

Thanks. I will just keep exercising with her. The bit about complimenting her is a really great idea! I will be sure to do that.
