I'm 49 going on about 35 (not 35 emotionally, just 35 in that I still enjoy learning and doing new things, and really like men younger than I am--they seem to be more open minded than men my age-not saying ALL--just a generalization) Divorced after a 25 year relationship (23 years married). Obviously I've been out of the game for, gawd, a quarter century. Frightening. So where do I go to meet men these days? A lot has changed in 25 years, so where to start? I feel like a clueless friggin' teenager. After such a long relationship I'm not looking to settle down anytime soon, but I'm still young enough in mind that I love to do things like the scariest rollercoaster at the park; haven't found a man >49 that's still into that 'fun' kind of thing. They just seem so serious. So my question is--where, at my age, to find someone to just hang out with? Bars don't seem to be the answer, but it's been so long since I've been single that I just don't know how to do this! Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks Kathy. Tried OLD. And it gets me just that--old. Like between 52 & believe it or not, 70! Yeah I can totally see a 70 year old on a rollercoaster! Lol. My family is in NY and I'm in Chicago so that's a bust too. I know everyone slams women on this site that say they look younger than they are so I hesitate to say this but have a 24 year old IRL trying to hit it (creepy), so maybe I do look younger than 49. ?? At any rate it sucks trying to find someone compatible at my age. Thanks for the advice; will try some same interest groups. Should be able to find that in a city as big as Chicago!

I hear ya Men much older trying to hit on women much younger than them. My sister found the same thing when she was doing OLD. Guys who say they are young at heart, they feel much younger than they are, they are not attracted to women their own age, yada yada. There are some men that do OLD who are realistic, however, and are looking more in their own age range. Just gotta be patient, and hopefully you will come across some of those types of men. My sister did eventually find a man through OLD who is the same age as her who was a good catch and she married him. You have to weed through a lot of frogs before you find a prince.

Just as creepy as a 24 year old! My sister tried a few different sites. It was the same on most of them--men looking for much younger women than them, but eventually you come across someone of value if you stick with it.

They're afraid their toupee will fly off, their dentures will fall out and they'll pee their pants because of an enlarged prostate. Plenty of younger men looking for cougars. The fact that you don't want to settle down and just want to have fun will attract them. Enjoy!
