movingon45 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I've been good for a month even though it nearly killed me. I still look at his Instagram though. Does that count? I don't think I can completely forget my MOM!!! I think that the worst is through though, but yeah I still look.
anne1707 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 NC means no photos, facebook, anything. The idea is to block all contact/reminders so you can heal. Looking just makes you remember and causes you more pain. 1
Author movingon45 Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Aaaargh..... how do you all do it? This is really an addiction.
Pierre Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Aaaargh..... how do you all do it? This is really an addiction. YOu medicate the addiction by looking at photos, but the effect is very transient and in the end it prolongs the withdrawal phase. A shorter withdrawal phase is achieved by hermetic NC. 1

You are not doing NC in your head and you're purposely looking at stuff that will make you think of him (pictures). Why do that to yourself? Let yourself really grieve the loss. Do NC on ALL levels, stay away from anything online too. 2
rys Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Aaaargh..... how do you all do it? This is really an addiction. I unfriended him. I even unfriended his close friends (but explained to them why I was doing it before removing them). 1

Looking just makes you remember and causes you more pain. This ^^. NC = NO NEW HURTS! And that includes looking at social media. Distract yourself by posting here when you feel the urge to look. You WILL feel better in time. 1
sunshine6 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Doesn't being on here, reading about and talking about the situation, also violate NC in a sense? We're still keeping the thoughts going... 1
spice4life Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Doesn't being on here, reading about and talking about the situation, also violate NC in a sense? We're still keeping the thoughts going... It depends. If someone just ended, coming here to process the hurt and confusion helps because they can't talk about it IRL. Once healed, some people like to help others through the process. If one is here to post attacks and criticize instead of offering insights and support to those who are hurting, then yeah, they are not letting the affair go and moving on. 1
Catplates Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Doesn't being on here, reading about and talking about the situation, also violate NC in a sense? We're still keeping the thoughts going... I got to a point where I did not come here for a long time because of the above. Depends where you are in the whole spectrum of the process. 1
Author movingon45 Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 Ok so I finally stopped looking at his instagram and I even blocked him. Now after just 1 day I was tempted to look and I found out that he blocked me too! Obviously he looked at my account and realized he was blocked. Nice. Oh well at least this way no need tone tempted.
BrokenPrincess Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I just looked at Facebook and now I'm hiding in the bathroom sobbing. I'd been having a good couple weeks then saw something on tv Sunday that triggered me badly & feel like I've been in a tailspin since then. I wish all of this would go away. I just miss him so much right now. God I'm a mess
