Is he having second thoughts??

I'm not sure if this is the right thread to place my question in - but regardless I am hoping to get some advice and thoughts on my current situation!

 

It all dates back to 2006, I met a boy while on vacation - he was as well. We hung out on vacation but didn't talk at all after returning home. We added one another to facebook after the vacation but that was about the extent of that.

 

Fast forward to a few months back. He gets in contact with me and we really hit it off. He lives several hours away from me (2.5-3 hrs I believe by car). He came to visit me shortly after we started talking again and things were amazing. Very sweet, we really really clicked. We talked/texted/IMed non stop after all day everyday. We made plans to meet up right after the holidays (I had told him that it would be hard to during the holidays) and a few days before we were to see each other again, he just completely quits talking to me!!! Mind I tell you the day before he quit talking to me he wasn't acting weird AT ALL, he was telling me he couldn't wait to see me and kiss me and how much he missed me/liked me etc. Of course I freaked out and texted - no answer. So I questioned if he maybe wasn't getting my texts so I sent him an email. He replied apologizing but saying he couldn't handle the distance - which was weird because he knew the distance from the second he started talking to me. I wondered if there were new girls but there is absolutely nothing that leads me to believe there is - no new girls on his fb, recent pics yes but none with a girl or mentioning a girl, nobody writing things about him and a girl, no new girls on twitter etc. I decided I would give him space but before deciding that I guess I sent a "pleading" email where I had told him to please not let the distance break things apart and kind of left things at that. That was a month ago and I haven't tried contacting him at all and he hasn't with me either. Now recently he writes to me "damn looking good" in response to a new picture I posted. A part of me thinks that it is a good thing he said that, maybe he has second thoughts on everything? Maybe not? I guess I would like some insight on what all you lovers out there think of this!! Good or bad!
