Good people get treated like sh*t and people who do not give a Rat's ar*e and treat people like crap live happy lives. That is the way it is. There is no reason to it all. Just be an utter bastard and life will reward you.

I tend to think of life as an intricately woven tapestry of actions, reactions and consequences. Sometimes there are obvious, direct consequences to people's actions and sometimes they are more subtle and indirect.

And as far as karma? I don't believe in it. I believe if you put out positive energy and are a decent person, you will tend to have an easier time maintaining a positive and happy attitude in the face of hardship, but it won't necessarily impact on the events (good or bad) that happen to you in your life. Same if you're a negative or not so decent person. Good and bad things will still happen regardless, and it'll be your attitude that will shape how you view them.

Also, yes, often cheaters and deceivers DO "come out on top" on a superficial level if they're not caught. Or even if they are, to them, the action and result are worth the consequences after being caught.

I also don't believe your good or bad actions necessarily impact on your own self that much, or end up with a good or bad result directly from those actions. It'd be like saying, I donated $200 to charity but I missed my train to work and got in trouble for being late. Or I found a lost wallet and returned it to its owner without taking the money out because I'm honest, but a month later when I lost MY wallet, nobody returned it to me because whoever found it was not honest. Bad karma on my part? NO. It just doesn't work like that.

I agree and feel the same way, Karma is total BS. If it existed, a lot more people would have gotten what they deserved a long time ago. I think its more of a mater of who gets caught in what they do and who doesn't. Why else would good people get hit by 'karma' as well?

Karma does seem to be complete BS. Have yet to see people who get off on hurting people to see any consequences.

Also, a huge thing I realised a long time ago is how arrogant and self-obsessed the concept of karma is. It’s trying to assign more control over things than what people really have because control over things means less fear of the unknown and uncontrollable.

But in terms of the arrogant thing, sometimes I worry that because of bad things I’ve done in my life, something bad will happen to me in return, and the worst things I can think of in that regard are losing my loved ones. Like them dying. But then I think…AS IF I am SO important to the universe that these individuals would be affected and hurt because I did something bad. Why is everything about ME? Answer – it isn’t.

Black and white thinking is all wrong. In general people do better and are happier if they are "good"; but don't confuse good with naive or foolish. Often, I feel people behave "badly" because their life is already miserable. That cosmic justice may not be so overtly noticeable but hell is already raging in the heads of bad folks.

Z- I must disagree with you based on personal experience. I've seen the inner workings of those who treat others in an uncool manor. It is disgusting. Even though they may "appear" happy, in control and content, but they are miserable inside. Seriously, who in their right mind could remain ok being uncool to others?

I have been screwed over A LOT and I have screwed others over directly or indirectly. There is always a price, no matter what hat we are wearing at the time.

You may not see retribution right away, but it does come...that day of reckoning- always and in all cases.

Yes, the only form of "karma" I believe in is the ruin of inner peace that people who treat others badly must feel deep down somewhere. No matter their material wealth, they may be unable to be truly happy because of who they have been so far in their lives. If their loves ones get sick and/or die, they may or may not be overly upset and may or may not feel major guilt over this, or they may have regrets if they have not been the best person they could be to those loved ones during their life. Stuff like that.

I feel a lot of people who do "bad" things in a routine manner are very scared.

Nailed It..

I can tell you it applies to me, who cheated, it applies to her who cheated twice and broke my heart.

Tell you what, I am only 26 but I have seen people do a 180 so many times. This includes me, friends, family and what not.

Hell does rage inside.
