When I broke up with an ex a year ago or so, I changed my e-mails hoping that he would leave me alone. It turns out somehow he was able to find out my new e-mail and is able to read everything I send. I know, because he still sends me nasty texts and e-mails that reveal the content of my personal information. He is making up fake e-mail accounts and using google voice to contact me, even when I've blocked his original phone number and original e-mail. I know it's him doing all of this. I can't think of anyone else that would do something like this.

To all the computer savvy people, how is he able to still find out my new e-mail and go through everything inside it? Can he just save my IP address and somehow track everything I write online? I've heard stuff like that, but want to see if it's true. Even if I keep changing e-mails and numbers, I think he will still find a way to get to me.

I don't know if I can press charges, as I don't have much evidence. I'm just ignoring him, but am curious as to how he can do this.

What you are thinking of is a keylogger. That would be my only idea from a technical standpoint. Most of them can be removed with a good antimalware program. Malwarebytes is an exceptional program. Here is a tutorial for dealing with a keylogger with Malwarebytes.

That aside, if you can document and prove that he is getting into your email accounts, file a report with the police. Going into another person's email contents is a federal offense and is held to similar levels as going through someone's mail.

Start gathering evidence, and find out what you would need in order to press charges. Also find out what you need to do to get a restraining order, or at least something that puts his harassment of you on the record.

I don't mean to freak you out more than you already are, but his behavior is really alarming, and you should not have to keep blocking his calls and changing your email and phone number. You shouldn't have to work so hard to hide yourself from a scary person. Take care of yourself.

TEchnically, wouldn't he be able to see what you typed here as well?
