Girls get desperate during Valentines day?

Is this true??

I have actually noticed this few years in a row.

Whenever it gets close to Valentines day girls will check me out alot more and show interest in me alot more.

Few things i noticed in college yesterday.

As i am walking girls will literally stare at me and not break eye contact, usually i puss out and look away after 5-6 seconds so its not awkward .

Literally had 2 girls make eye contact with me and smile in the library (in b4 this happens to me on the daily basis..lol not for me).

Had a girl in class sit next to me and literally look/stare at me during the lecture without even trying to be subtle. It was like she wanted me to notice and i did but ignored it...then she started a convo with me and i kept it short. After class she gets up same time as me but this guy blocked my way and i had to wait for him to grab his stuff so she got out before me. SO i am talking to the guy while walking out and what do you know she is actually "tying her shoe" and starts walking next to us.

Its as if these girls that are single are desperate to find someone before valentines. I have noticed this few years now and its always near Valentines day. I dont get this much attention other times (srs).

Humans tend to look for meaning in things. It's just our nature.

Maybe you had something on your face yesterday. Maybe you're the one noticing it's close to Valentine's Day, so you're paying more attention to things than you normally would.

I remember reading an article about young men in Japan who were dreading Christmas solo and they would make reservations months in advance to fancy restaurants, even if they didn't get a date, just in case :) !

Well, St.V def puts girls more in the mood compared to... let's say St. Patrick's, haha! What I really enjoy for St.V is the Anti-Valentine's single parties, they are the absolute best! Nothing quite like a good laugh at all the pressure, with my girls!

I hate Valentines day.

Even when I'm in a relationship I refuse to celebrate it.

St.V. is cool. Not the corny, hearts everywhere, rose petals on the ground style... but the perfect excuse for a bubble bath and candles type of date ;). I never expect flowers, but yeah, if I got flowers for St.V... you can be sure I'd expect to be done some nasty things to me, later, too, haha  !!

bloody celebration, it's a def turn on !!

Wow seriously? The guy is saying he's having girls notice him, and you tell him "maybe something was on your face?" That's so rude.

In Japan, Valentine's Day is the day women give men gifts and candy.

I bet they return the favor big time... for Japanese people, I mean :D!

I think anyone who puts much stock in Vday...much less to the point of getting desperate/depressed because of it!!...is kind of a big freakin nerd. :o

Single or not, I've never cared one way or the other about it, though I guess it was fun in elementary school :)

What kind of punishment do you dish out for being a nerd?

looks of scorn and disdain

honestly if the fact that Vday exists is gonna make someone all depressed and whatnot, like...they need to get a life.

I don't think it is about desperation but more a reminder about what some of us lack... love

V-day is about those in our lives who we love (generally romantically) but not limited to that absolutely. The only person in my life I love is my Dad.

Oh, don't get your knickers in a bunch. I just find it odd that ONE DAY he notices all these girls staring at him. I just don't think someone should jump to the conclusion that they're doing it out of desperation for someone to spend Valentine's Day with, which is even more insulting.

Yes they do. Girls hear their friends talking about romantic plans with bfs and start to wonder why they are alone. Most girls see everyone coupling up and panic, whereas guys are used to not having romance in their lives so they don't care as much. You can clean up at the bars on VDay because the women are single and their standards are yanked harshly onto a realistic level for that one magical night.

ppfffff, I don't understand all this drama, everyone seems to win: the couples get a great reason to celebrate (and have more sex than the usual), those who aren't in a couple get to be in a couple, as women are more romantically inclined and men feel the scent of prey even stronger in their nostrils! I think everyone should just chill, have a cocktail and make sure they're wearing clean undies for the VDay ;) !
