Went out to a bar with this new guy, I was late so I insisted on paying for the drinks.

He didn't seems "settled" during the date as he's always playing with coaster, wine glass, smoothing out his hair etc. we were out for about 3hours and HE decide we should make a move. (we talked about proper stuff throughout, he wasn't touchy at all etc.)

We ended the date with a HANDSHAKE and he says it was great meeting me. We didn't mention anything about meeting again. Since it ended in such weird way, I didn't expect any MSG from him. He text me 2 days later and we start talking a little, didn't talk about the date though.

He say he's going for a trip and I replied "share your encounters when you are back" he say "okay will surely do, drinks on me the next time"

Do you think this "second date" may occur or he's just being polite? And did I sound too desperate like im fishing for a second date?

a handshake!? Best case scenariio - your hotness made him nervous!

doesn't sound desperate at all - almost politely cool really.

My advice would be to think less, look sharp and enjoy your second date where drinks are on him. Since this is on your mind, there is some attraction there, so see where it goes. If it turns out he was merely being polite, that's one answer of many. In the meantime, enjoy the attentions of other eligible males. Balance.
