It's not a myth. There is a considerable number of men in their twenties and even thirties that just want to date around and not get involved. And if you do the math, that means a lot of women will end up not being able to find a relationship.

There are an equal amount of women who are the same way. People in general tend to want to commit later than they used to.

This isn't a criticism, but an observation; it's obvious from this post alone that you are female, because that's where 100% of your empathy lies. Why is it more likely that she'd get dumped? If a couple dated while the woman worked and the man finished school, would you not worry that the man would leave once he became established?

You will be disappointed to know that I'm a 26-year-old black male.

It's not the first time I was told that I think like a female and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Like you said, you said that you can't get into a serious relationship unless she succeed in completing school. She said she wanted to go to law school.

Law school takes years of work and dedication to complete.

What does this mean? You both are, at the best, friends with benefits until she completes law school in which case, your serious relationship starts. However, that takes years before that is done. 5-6+ years, if memory serves me right.

This isn't counting as to whether or not the relationship will even work out.

There is simply too much risk for the both of you to dedicate that much time just to start a real relationship so she opted out and, frankly, I can't blame her. I have no desire waiting 5-6 years just to learn about someone. I rather be with other women and come back to her once she is done than wait and do little to nothing while keeping myself somewhat exclusive to her.
