Yes, I'm going out on my first date with the boss's daughter tonight and to top things off, today is her birthday. It's a simple takebher out to eat type of date. For one thing I'm a little nervous and I tend to run out of things to conversate about. So, without sounding like I'm interrogating her ( which I do sometimes when I run out of things to talk about) what kind of things can I ask her without sounding like a douche? One more thing, would it be to much if I gave her flowers when first meet up? Thanks for any advice.

The boss is cool, we get along great. The company gross is over a million a year but I really dont care about that.

Well I was just wondering if it was public/private/etc....

Often there will be structures where this would be seen negatively by other people at work.

Also, the outcome of your relationship with his daughter may have a work-place related effect...

I dunno...

I don't **** where I eat...

Whew.

I wouldn't be nervous about the date really. If I were you I'd take some time to think over what you're going to do if it doesn't work out.

It's a birthday treat so if it's not an ongoing deal, write it off to birthday treat.

1 million is closely held.

No doubt! He's found her a fine, upstanding chap with a bright future. Suspect he won't be quite so "cool" when/if things implode and his precious princess is afloat in tears.

How's ye olde resume? Break out the feather duster before you break up with his sweet little snowflake! Great won't be part of your vocabulary when that lovely debacle happens.

I occasionally get flowers and other small gifts on a first date. It's nice and thoughtful, and I appreciate the gesture, but I'd rather not receive these on date #1.:)

Good luck!

The date went great. We had dinner and talked for a while. There was some flirting between eachother. I also scored a second date with her which was her idea. We plan on going out to the movie theater this Sunday. I really dont know what type of movie to choose. I'm not that experienced with "going out on dates" so, once again any pointers will help. Thanks for all the replies.

Last time I checked "tha" and "naw" aren't words either.

(By the way, thanks for the grammer lesson.)

Fantastic!:)

Agree that you should call, or at least text her, before next Sunday. In general, avoid violence, blood, and gore in picking a movie....oh, and kiddie movies and cartoons too. Select from what's left, preferably something that's aligned with an interest she mentioned and/or a movie of decent quality. You may want to grab a quick bite to eat or drinks either before or after the movie since you don't really have an opportunity to chat during the show itself.

Have fun:)...and give some thought to the job hunt process while you're at it. Unless you marry her or change bosses/jobs, this saga is unlikely to end well for you.

Conversate | Define Conversate at Dictionary.com

When all is said and done, however, the term broadly remains nonstandard English.

Thank you dictionary.com and random house

Like it or not, using certain nonstandard English terms "baby daddy," "conversate," and other words of that ilk, often lend a certain impression.

Additionally, widespread does not necessarily equal correct. Allot off peeps makes thees misstakes tho.

We sent text to one another last night for about 3 hours asking about likes and dislikes and the conversation went well. Even though I really like this girl at the sametime I dont want to smother with texting so, I haven't text her all day until about an hour ago asking her how day went. She replied with "It was alright but long". I didn't ask her anything else unless she answers back with a question.

I'm not that good with holding conversations but I'm not that bad at it either. Can anyone give me some ideas on how to start a converstion with this girl without coming off as a "dumb ass" or to boring? I need something that would grab her attention. Thanks again for the replies.
