lynngv Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 It is over, the divorce and I am glad to see this. Now ex husband and I signed the papers on Friday,I cleaned him out good.I got the items back I asked for and getting spousal support,$500.00 a month.I credit my lawyer for everything including support from family and friends.I know I am finally free from my ex husband,no more abuse and bad treatment from him.I have moved on ever since, getting me a break before I go back into the dating scene again.I am one happy woman now.
jf2good Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I don't know what your husband did to you, but why do you need $500 a month spousal support after you "cleaned him out good". Why does any divorcee deserve spousal support other than child support which is for the children only. Getting a divorce should be a clean break for all involved a chance to start over and not continue to have one spouse support the other after it is over.
Balzac Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Spousal support is often a temporary funding to allow for opportunity to educate, seek a higher level of employment. In some districts it's called rehabilitation support. The amount is in addition to equity distribution. "Cleaning him out" was him agreeing to cash her generously. It's often a victory cry that is not based in fact.
M30USA Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Anyone who uses the phrase "clean out" in reference to their spouse during a divorce suffers from what I call Entitlement Syndrome.
Author lynngv Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 My ex husband hit, slapped me.Plus he cheated on me a lot.I am getting $250,000.00,invested in property and a tons of stocks.I got out of them 3 years ago and never got my money back.It was written in writing,a contract. He took a Polaris 4 wheeler when I kicked him out.I purchased it,he had bad credit at the time and the title is my name.I kept the purchase papers including the title. He took a 1970 Camaro too, that was not his and he knew it.I recieved it as an inheritance 5 years ago when an uncle of mine passed away.I got that back.
Balzac Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Sounds to me as if you retained or were restored monies already your's. how that constitutes cleaning him out, not sure. Good for you getting your own wealth restored, often that's accomplished through long term payout and it does happen that such judgements are never satisfied.
