mattboltz Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 So me and this girl have been dating/talking for the last month, the last 2 weeks I have been away at school, so all we can do is text and occasionally chat on the phone. With Valentines day coming up I am unsure what to do. I think I should definitely get her something, but more importantly what do I say? I do want this girl to be my girlfriend, but since we aren't going to be together is valentines day the best day to ask? Or should I wait until I see her in person? If I don't ask her to be my girlfriend what do I get her/say to her for V-day? Hope you guys can share your advice and experience. Thanks!
HitMeNow Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Whatever you say, be confident. Don't ask her to be your gf. That's just cheesy IMO and you won't have some type of anniversary to celebrate in the future . Send her a handmade gift, with a cute postcard attached on it. Don't overstate your feelings 1
Cutiepie1976 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Ages? When do you next see her? How long have you known her? In other words were you friends or part of the same social circle before you started dating? Not enough details to provide useful advice.

rushingwaters Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 but since we aren't going to be together is valentines day the best day to ask? Or should I wait until I see her in person? You should ask a girl to be your girlfriend in person. Doing it over text, facebook, email, even phone call is too impersonal.
xpaperxcutx Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I'm assuming you already got a date planned for Vday? Take her out for a casual and give her a small gift ( less pressure) and then ask her.

I would ask till you see you in person, important communication should always happen in person.
