Matilda Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Thanks to Dyer, I have been doing a little research on prejudice this morning. I thought this site was very interesting. They offer on-line tests that measure (or attempt to measure), unconscious feelings of prejudice in the following areas: age, gender, race, election, presidents, sexuality, weight, religion, weapons, disability, Native, Asian. https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/index.jsp There is also discussion about how these unconscious thoughts affect behavior.
Fayebelle Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I've only finished 3 so far b/c they are kind of lengthy- I plan to take them all though b/c I found the relults interesting- seems I slightly prefer old people and have a slight preference to white people- I have no attitude about science being a male field
dyermaker Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I took it as well. I think the major flaw is that the reason I make more mistakes when they switch the 'white side' with the 'black side' is not because I'm prejudiced, it's just because I'm exhausted, taking the test for so long.
