skings Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I went on a date with this girl two days ago. We both are in our late 20's. It was our first and we had some good time chatting. I was going to wait for a couple of days and then call her (which would have been today). But last night she sent me an email which just said 'Thanks again for last night'. I obviously replied to her saying that I would call her tomorrow and that I'd like to hang out again. I called her today and left her a Voice mail as she didn't pick up the call. It has been a little over 3 hours since I called her. Should I just wait it out without pressuring her much by calling or texting? I like this girl. Thanks for your opinion
pbjbear Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Email sounds good. Its only been 3 hours so dont fret yet. If you dont hear in a day or two then Id begin worrying. But yeah, you dont need to contact her again, wait for her to respond
Author skings Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 Thanks. She emailed saying she couldn't talk then but would certainly like to hang out again. fingers crossed!
lakerman34 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Thanks. She emailed saying she couldn't talk then but would certainly like to hang out again. fingers crossed! Yeah, sounds good. I don't know. When pursuing/dating a girl, I don't like leaving voice mails though. They can see that you called, so wait for her to respond to you. I like getting an actual person on the other line. Maybe this is just personal preference, but I don't EVER leave voice mail with a girl I'm pursuing/dating.
Author skings Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 I agree but sometimes if you are out of coverage, you never even know that the person called you. It has happened to me many times and people have always asked me why I haven't responded to their calls while in reality I didn't get any. all the more reason I prefer texts but not everyone likes texting

She thought I was angry at her (tone of voice in texting) when I wasn't, and she told me she was fed up with my anger issues (which was weird because I'm very cool-headed, calm, and collected). It was an LDR so it wasn't like I could drive to her place and fix things up, so I said 'F it' and moved on HAHA.

Girls know that guys will wait a few days before calling. During this time, we get very anxious, especially if we like the guy. We want to know if he is interested or not. She followed up with a simple thank you email to probe your interest. If you had only replied with a "same here" or "no problem", she would know you're not interested. Good luck! Start making and initiating plans!
