RamiTia Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 So, my boyfriend and I have been dating for 10 months and he is thinking of moving over 700 miles to be with me. THINKING, but having a very hard time deciding. He was recently laid off from his job and is receiving a generous severance package equivalent to about 1.5 month pay... I thought this is the ideal time for him to come visit me, since he doesn't have to worry about getting enough hours and taking the time off work (ouch..) to afford it. BUT... I don't want him to spend a ton of money when he needs to look for a new job! Btw, he is not upset that he was laid off, he sees it as a blessing. Is it too extravagant to buy him a $200-250 plane ticket?

Lani Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Yeah, get him out there for a visit and see how it all goes. You never know, there might be better work opportunities there for him anyway. Most of all, just make sure you enjoy having him there!
