Ok, about 3 years ago. I started dating a female who is white and I am black. She never dated a black guy before so there was some fear. After spending a year together. We were actually in love. The race issue didn't come up but once in the beginning. So, I thought she realized that I was a wonderful guy and diet care. We both told each other we were in love. Well, a year later she break up with me. Stating that she didn't have time bc of school and all. Which I accepted as the truth. After the break up we still communicated like normal. Had she knew I still had strong feeling for her. Only to find out a year and a half later the real reason she ended things. That being, she couldn't deal with the social stigma of dating a black guy. Even tough she knew I was a wonderful guy. The bad part is that she never had any intention on telling me the truth. She kept me around for a year and a half afterward. Until she found someone else. I accepted things but for six months. I've told her not to contact me and give me time. She failed to do so, and now all I can think about is her being with someone else. How do I get past this? I really need advice bc it's not normal.

Well.... congrats! She is obviously a very shallow person, and you're lucky to get her out of your life. Next time NEVER wait 1.5 years for anyone who breaks up with you (don't even wait 1 day).

Thanks, I needed to hear that.

Well, interracial relationships are becoming more accepted in a lot of cultural circles, but there are a lot of people that don't accept the concept. And, unfortunately, those outside forces put a lot of strain on the relationship.

Your girl wasn't strong enough to handle the strain. You need to find a strong independant woman. Whether she be black, white, red or yellow. She'll be strong enough to be color blind, your Ex didn't have it because she allowed outside force to over ride her feelings for you. And that's not fair to you.
