Capiten Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Hey there, I met a girl online and after exchanging messages over about two months we decided to meet up. The date went incredibly well. She suggested extending it by going to see a movie (though we didn't have enough time) so we decided to eat at a restaurant instead. We shared each others food, she played with her hair, we were both laughing and having a great time with each other. We hugged before she got on her train and she said: "I definitely want to see you again" which I took as a good sign. We sent a few messages on the journey home and I asked if she made it home alright, everything seemed fine. However... I decided to text her the next day saying pretty much this: "Hey there *girl's name*. I had a great time yesterday Do you fancy meeting up again this weekend? You could show me *city she lives in*, or anywhere else you'd like to go?" She'd already said she could show me a few places where she lives so that's why I suggested it. Anyway, I sent that message 2 days ago and she hasn't responded to it. It's concerning as I know she read the message right away, although she did take a few days to get back to me on the dating site. She's not kept me waiting with texts before. So my question is now, what do I do? Did I freak her out by saying that? I can't see how she could have interpreted it incorrectly at all. She's probably talking with other guys online at the moment, which is fine. I just got the impression she was really interested. I know I am! Any advice? Thanks for your time! Pyro Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Not contacting you after two days more than likely means that she didn't feel the spark on your date and felt no connection. Instead of being honest with you she is letting you off easily. Happens to the best of us. Time to move on. 1
Author Capiten Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Aw, that's disappointing. I really didn't get that impression from the date at all, although I was expecting someone to say that here. Why say she'd definitely want to meet again if she didn't. Ah well. I wish people would always be honest though. The true hurts, but being left in limbo is far worse.
mustangguy29 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 If she wants to see you again, she will contact you, just give her some space, and start looking for other options.

I don't think you came up as too needy, but I wasn't there, so who knows? I would let it be, you reached out, her turn.
Yamcha Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Nah, you didn't come off as needy with that text. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can text her again communicating that you'd like to know if she wants to meetup again or not so you can make other plans if she'd not down for it.
pbjbear Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Nah, you werent needy at all. Shes just prob not interested. People arent honest on dates because they dont want to hurt your feelings. When I have gone on first dates where there was no spark, sometimes I am honest and sometimes I am not. It depends on the guys personality and how much he brings up at the end about getting together again.
Author Capiten Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks for all the replies. I've always found that there are a lot of contrasting opinions when it comes to dating advice. I'm thinking I might text her tonight or tomorrow to see if I can get an answer about weather or not she's still interested. I guess I'll see how I feel about it later on tonight.

If you contact her again then you will come across as needy IMO. You already contacted her and if she wants to talk to you then she will message you back, but in the meantime you should leave it alone. 1
Author Capiten Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I'm the type of person who dislikes beating around the bush, I'd rather just come out and say something rather than sitting around guessing... But it's probably best to sit it out longer. I'm going to remain positive about this, as why else would she say she "definitely" wanted to see me again. Plus she tried extending the date, so she must have been enjoying herself..?! Psshh... Dating! So much trouble.
